Matthew 14:22-32
22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down
Good morning everyone , looks like it’s going to be another beautiful day in East TN that God allowed us to open our eyes to.
I’ve read the story in Matthew where Jesus walked on the water several times but I got to thinking.
Jesus told the His disciples to get in the boat. So as Jesus told them to get in the boat no one question him they just got in. You see Jesus never told them it would be smooth sailing, they just took it on faith to do his will.
About halfway through the winds got rough and they saw Jesus walking on the water coming towards them.
That’s like Christian’s today we need to take that leap of faith and get in the boat and go where he tells us to go. It’s not going to be smooth sailing it’s going to be rough, Satans going to throw everything at you.
Just like Peter walking on the water towards Jesus he was doing fine till he took his eyes of him and he started to sink.
We as Christian’s when life gets rough and we take our eyes of Jesus the world will start to swallow us up.
But don’t worry look up Jesus is right there waiting all we have to do is call on him.
Just like Peter he stretched forth his hand and caught him Jesus will do the same for us but we have to reach out our hand as well and put it in his.
Life is hard everyone knows that but wouldn’t you rather go through life knowing you have a Heavenly Father that has already made a way through the storms all we have to do is trust him.
Yeah it’s going to be rough but hang on and he will get you through it.
Or choose to reject his calling and go through life’s storms without him, it’s going to get rough and when it does your going to look up and he’s not going to be there and your going to sink without Christ.
That should scare anyone just thinking about it.
Just remember you don’t have to go through life alone Jesus took our sins to the cross all we have to do is believe on him and when he calls answer that call and accept him as your Lord and savior.

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life." Proverbs 13:12.
Life without hope is, well, hopeless! I think we can all agree with that. One’s heart needs hope to move forward, anticipating good. Here’s the problem: what often masquerades as hope can be a cruel impostor. The word, “hope,” is generally misused, meaning far less than it does and much weaker than it is. Frequently, a person thinks they are hoping for good when wishful thinking describes better the person’s mental and emotional posture. Often, what people express as hope merely insinuates an outcome, they really do not expect will happen but wish that it would. That is definitely not the picture of hope as used in the Bible about matters of faith. Life does not always happen as you planned, nor when you expected. Exactly when things do not happen as you were expecting, hope is what you will need to have. Hope, as used in the New Testament, means “a favorable and confident expectation....” Hope stands poised for the future, not relying on past or present experiences for reassurance. You may not know how or when a desired outcome will occur, but your hope must rest peacefully in God’s faithfulness and wisdom on your behalf, more than on any particular outcome you desire.

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” Hebrews 6:19-20. Real hope anchors content within the will and wisdom of God, having both strong anticipation and enduring patience. Picture hope as leaning into the future with eyes fixed more upon the horizon than the moment. “O Lord. no one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame. “Psalm 25:3. You cannot conjure up hope by tenacious determination, nor is it as delicate and fragile as some would presume. It is helpful to know the source from which hope comes. “God, the source of hope, will fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith in Him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit. “Romans 15:13. God is the Source of real hope that is unshakable and unassuming. How does He accomplish that? “By means of your faith in Him. by the power of the Holy Spirit.” See Psalm 62:5-8. You will know your hope is in God when your heart is filled with joy and peace.
