Spring Branch Church of the Brethren opened our 11:00 am service with music provided by Pastor Rodney Kennedy, welcoming everyone to today’s service and presented the opening prayer. There were 27 in attendance. Leesa Kennedy led the congregation in the hymn “Mansion Over the Hilltop” accompanied by pianist Marie Shelten. Craig Bistrup, Joe Kennedy, and James Stoll collected the tithes and offerings, and Pastor Kennedy gave the prayer of Thanksgiving. The congregation shared expressions of joy and prayer concerns. Leesa Kennedy gave the prayer of faith and healing. Anita Beard read the call to worship from Colossians 1:9-14. Pastor Kennedy delivered a message titled God Never Said That – “Forgive, don’t Forget” with text from Ephesians 4:31-32, Colossians 3:13. Shannon Kennedy gave the dismissal prayer. Upcoming events: June 21- Monthly carry-in meal; June 21- Baptisms. Those on our prayer list are Margie Best, Betty Cobb, Kennedy, Graham and Harper Valenti, Amber Price, Pam Arvidson, David Beard, Dennis Benedict, Elaine Butler-Bedford, Becky Stegemann, Sarah Estep, Diana Smith, Zada Grindstaff, John Stewart, Graham, Bryan and Chrystal Hensley, Brenda Lane, Logan & Skylar Stewart, Matt Sullivan, and Logan Lane. Other prayers are for our country, those in harm’s way from natural disasters, war, and terrorists; and we pray for our Christian brothers and sisters, Israel, our President, our government, and our troops.
