Spring Branch Church of the Brethren opened our 11:00 am service with music provided by Pastor Rodney Kennedy, welcoming everyone to today’s service and presented the opening prayer. There were 29 in attendance. Leesa Kennedy led the congregation in the hymn “I’ll Fly Away” and “Victory in Jesus” accompanied by pianist Marie Shelten. Debbie and James Stoll and Chris Plude collected the tithes and offerings, and Pastor Kennedy gave the prayer of Thanksgiving. The congregation shared expressions of joy and prayer concerns. Leesa Kennedy gave the prayer of faith and healing. Shannon Kennedy read the call to worship from 2 Peter 3:1-7 and Pastor Kennedy delivered a message titled What are you Holding Onto with text from Matthew 19-34 and Mark 10:17-20. James Stoll gave the dismissal prayer. Upcoming events: September 11/12 - District Conference Warrensburg; September 13 – Guest Speaker Brian Maddux; September 20 – Monthly fellowship carry-in meal. Those on our prayer list are Jim Norris, Maryanne and Kevin Ross, Michael Creed, Ron Lane, Margie Best, Betty Cobb, Amber Price, Becky Stegemann, Elaine Butler-Bedford, Sarah Estep, Diana Smith, John Stewart, Brenda Lane, Logan & Skylar Stewart, Matt Sullivan, and Logan Lane. Other prayers are for our country, those in harm’s way from natural disasters, war, and terrorists; and we pray for our Christian brothers and sisters, our youth, Israel, our President, our government, and our troops.

James Stoll read the call to worship from Hebrews 6:9-12 and Pastor Kennedy delivered a message titled Anchored in Hope with text from Matthew 14:25-31. James Stoll gave the dismissal prayer.
