CHRISTMAS IN JULY!
Dear Friends,
With Sarah on vacation, the Weekโs End News will harken back to the old days when it was just me and email โ no Facebook or website. Weโll catch everything up in the July 26 issue, my final one. Hereโs whatโs happening this week and beyond.
SUNDAY
Wright Sunday School class, 10-10:45 a.m., fellowship hall with Rae McEntyre.
WORSHIP is at 11. I will be in the pulpit and with Shirley Warnick out, Barbie Wright will lead the music and offer a Christmas special. Remember this is Christmas in July Sunday when we celebrate Jesusโ birth in the heat of July. There is no Livestream this week so if you want to join in worship and celebration, you gotta come!
TITLE: โRise Up...And Follow"
SCRIPTURE: Luke 2:8-20
SUMMARY: One of the beautiful aspects of the Christmas story, whether we hear it in the cold of December or the heat of July, is it reminds us of the God who cared enough for us to come to earth as a baby.
PRAYER LIST: We will update in the bulletin or service. Hereโs the CURRENT list as I have it: Karen Judy, Laura Hansen, Tonia Smith, Ed Carlton, Tim Mefford, Randy Mefford, Jackie Maiden (Phil), future of the Warsaw Christian Church.
UPCOMING/ONGOING
>SEEKERS, 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays, July 24 and 31. Study on the Book of Daniel continues. Seekers will be moving to the Historical Society after the 31st.
>JULY 28: Recognition of graduates and baptism at the 11 a.m. service. Celebration potluck to follow. Church providing pulled pork (I think!), we bring the rest. The service will be my final one as your minister.
>FACEBOOK transition has been successful. Thanks to all for โlikingโ and โfollowingโ the new page so that this important outreach ministry will continue.
>ALUMINUM CAN COLLECTION through Aug. 18. With Sarah Colbert leaving at the end of August, a volunteer will be needed if the church wants to continue the program.
>BLESSING BOXโฆletโs keep it full.
>NEXT NOODLES CARRY OUT will be Sunday, Aug. 11. Letโs keep the bin and envelopes full.
>STATS for July 14-20: 17 at the in-person worship service; 4 at Sunday School; 5 at Seekers. Plate offering was $590, contributions from other sources unavailable at press time. $1,167 is needed to meet the budget.
See you Sunday for Christmas in July,
Phil
