Be Still Parent Coaching

Be Still Parent Coaching Through Be Still Parent Coaching, you will be reminded of these strengths and the importance of being still. We must learn to surrender to God. To trust. To know.

Be Still Parent Coaching is a Christian parent coaching practice, helping parents to see the joy in parenting by discovering the strengths within themselves and their children. I am PCI Certified Parent Coach®, Tierney Boggs, and I know Parenting is a precious time where God allows us to discover strengths in ourselves that we never knew we had. In this day in age, we are overloaded with informati

on, overstimulated by technology and saturated in opinions. This busyness and buzz encourages us to fear, be anxious and miss important moments that will never return. All of these distractions make it difficult to remember that God intended for us to trust the holy spirit within us. But how can we pay attention to God and ourselves if in the midst of this noise? To be fully present. To live with intention. Let’s learn how to be present again and utilize our strengths fully. Being still is powerful and God intended parenting to be a gift, not a burden. I have no doubt that God brought you to me for a reason, so be brave and let’s talk. Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

It’s amazing how infants and children thrive when nourished and connected to what is living. Whenever we replace living with non- living, there is a trade off. A mother’s arms builds neural connections within a bond of safety that cannot be replaced by a swing or container. When we feed our children living food, real food, from the ground food, they are nourished in a way that will never compare to boxed and man-made attempts. God-made will always trump man-made. Scripture emphasizes life—Jesus came to bring us life. Everything connected to God is alive. Why would we want anything less for our babies? I love how science is slowly catching up to scripture.

I never knew a crisis across the world would carry such a personal impact on us. But we are learning as we go, and there is a lot to be grateful for. Read my new blog post here:

My husband and I chose to host a seven-year-old Ukrainian girl this past Christmas for four short weeks. Anna traveled over 30 long hours from her orphanage to get here with her two older siblings …

This picture speaks. On the verge of a new transition which can be beautiful.

And a poem that is so telling. Sometimes it’s not about “cracking a code”, but about embracing the season knowing it is fleeting.

The nights would become a burden that would breathe down my neck during the days.
And sometimes I would cry, to myself, to my husband.
She was the reason for my tears and I was the answer to hers.
It’s not that I don’t remember it, but the sharp inhale of it all has faded.

Last night, she called out for me and I went to her, like I always have.
The hallways aren’t tunnels like they used to be.
She whispered to me that I was her best friend in that little lisp of hers and kissed my nose.
She pulled my face in so we were breathing one in the same.
I could feel her lashes on my cheek.
She traced the wrinkles around my eyes, the ones I’m newly conscious about.
The ones she couldn’t care less about.
And wrapped her arms around me, knowing it would be harder for me to sneak away.
And I let her.
Because I don’t want to forget the way she looks at me as if I scattered the stars in the sky.
I close my eyes instead of waiting for her arm to soften.
No longer feeling like an island.
No longer up and down all night.
Just there as she drifts off, until it will be no longer.
We never ‘cracked the code’ of sleep.
But as I lie here now,
I think it was meant to be this way,
For both of us.

There are as many emotions throughout the day as colors on the spectrum.

Don’t paint the whole day black by focusing on the bad. Don’t paint the whole day yellow by only seeing good. But see the spectrum and absorb its beauty knowing emotions are important, but truth is life.

Sometimes by being absorbed by the emotional roller coasters and ups and downs of early childhood, we forget that children are a REWARD from the Lord.

When we begin and end our day with gratefulness, we are able to be free from the ups and downs (and have fuller access to our brain by the way. Another instance of brain research lining up with scripture.)

Children are a gift from the Lord;
they are a reward from him. Psalm 127:3

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
