If you are like the rest of us, and you're just a normal person wanting to be loved and accepted, and want to know more about God and discover who He really is, then this is the place for you! On the other hand, if you are expecting to come see a big bunch of perfect people, you'll be a little disappointed. We are regular folks who need a Savior and we've found Him: Jesus Christ, God's only Son! We desire to serve Jesus, know Jesus, and be like Jesus!

🎉 Celebrating 150 Years of Waterstone Church!

Today was such a special day as we celebrated 150 years of Waterstone Church! What an incredible milestone and a beautiful reminder of God’s faithfulness through the generations.

For 150 years, God has continued to work through this church, touching lives, building relationships, and sharing His love with our community. As we look back on all that He has done, we are also excited for all He still has in store!

We are so thankful for everyone who has been part of the Waterstone story and for the opportunity to continue building on the legacy of those who came before us.

150 years of faithfulness, and we’re just getting started! ❤️

One hundred and fifty years is more than a number. It represents generations of people who believed in God, trusted His Word, served His Church, loved their neighbors, raised their families, and faithfully carried the Gospel from one generation to the next. Waterstone Church is here today because God has been faithful. That’s not just what He does, it is who He is. It’s an amazing attribute of the one true God. Today we will examine His Faithfulness and discover that we have been on that journey for 150 years, are on it now and the best is still ahead.

150 Years of God’s Faithfulness | Tomorrow We Celebrate!

For 150 years, our church has been part of the story of this community. Generations have gathered to worship, study God’s Word, serve others, and grow together in faith.

As we look back with gratitude, we also look forward to what God has in store for the generations to come.

We’re excited to celebrate this special milestone with our church family, former members, friends, and everyone who has been part of our story.

150 Years of God’s Faithfulness | Built Together

In 1957, a new sanctuary was completed and dedicated at First Baptist Church of Warrior.

But it wasn’t just a building project. It was the result of years of planning, generous giving, and people willing to contribute their time and labor. Members and friends worked together to help bring the project to completion.

The sanctuary was dedicated on December 1, 1957, and the church’s history records the many people who helped make it possible.

We’re grateful for those who invested in the church for the generations that would follow.

Tomorrow, we’ll take one more look back before we gather to celebrate 150 years of God’s faithfulness!

150 Years of God’s Faithfulness | Faith in Action

Our church’s history isn’t just about buildings and dates. It’s also about serving others and sharing the love of Christ.

The Ladies Missionary Society was already collecting funds for missions by 1892. Over the years, church members supported mission work, helped care for children in need, and gave their time and resources to serve others.

Those acts of generosity are an important part of the legacy we’re celebrating.

As we look back over 150 years, may we continue to share the love of Jesus and serve our community faithfully!

150 Years of God’s Faithfulness | Did You Know?

Here’s a fascinating piece of our church’s history!

In 1923, the original church building was moved from its location near the cemetery to the property where the church stands today. And it wasn’t moved on a truck! According to our church history, the building was moved intact by skidding it along logs.

Some people who witnessed the move remembered watching it happen from their classrooms at the Warrior school.

It’s a reminder that the story of our church is filled with the hard work, dedication, and faith of those who came before us.

150 Years of God’s Faithfulness | Generations Growing in Faith

One of the earliest records of our church’s Sunday School dates back to September 19, 1886.

That day, six officers and teachers gathered with 62 students and 21 visitors. The meeting included Scripture reading, singing, prayer, and a lesson from John 17.

For nearly 140 years, that record has reminded us of the importance of teaching God’s Word and investing in the next generation.

We’re thankful for every teacher, volunteer, parent, and church member who has helped children grow in their faith through the years.

150 Years of God’s Faithfulness | A Look Back

Did you know our church’s history dates back to 1876?

First Baptist Church of Warrior began during a time when the Warrior community was growing around the railroad and coal industry. As people settled in the area, a church was started to help meet the spiritual needs of the community.

What began generations ago became part of the story of countless families and individuals who have worshiped and served the Lord here.

As we celebrate 150 years, we’re thankful for the faithfulness of God through every season!

Many today, even in places of business, say “Have a Blessed Day”. That is a wonderful saying but I’m not sure that the majority of those saying that know what it means or how to have it. Real blessings are bestowed not attained. God is the only one who can bestow genuine blessings. Being blessed is part of the abundant life that Jesus promised. Today we will examine what it means to be blessed and discover the only pathway to finding that “Blessed Day”.

This October, Waterstone Church will celebrate 150 years of faith, family, and community.

For 150 years, God has been faithful through generations of people who have worshiped, served, prayed, grown, and shared life together. What a beautiful legacy to be a part of.
