Love's Fatherhood

On this Father’s day most of us will be thinking of our earthly father; and rightfully so. But to those who are born again, there is another Daddy who should be considered and appreciated; the Father who birthed us spiritually. His love has been working in our lives even before we were physically born. His love has done such wondrous things in our lives; some of which we’re not even aware. Today we will consider this love of the Father and discover how marvelous it truly is.

Staying In The Love Of God

The Love of God is not something to be ignored, taken lightly or for granted. The “Agape of God” should always the operating principle for every Christian. We love Him because He first loved us. (I John 4:19) We love each other because He gave a new commandment to love one another “as He loved us”. (John 15:12) And we are to Love the Lost because He gave His life to save them. (John 3:16) Today we will take a close look at this love and discover how to keep ourselves in the love of God as our guiding principle.

We are living in a strange day. We get on fire and are worked up about the latest fads or social media posts but we are cold about our neighbor’s welfare. But when it comes to the things of God, we are just blasé. We can either take it or leave it. It just doesn’t matter any more to us. The best way to describe the Church of today is “Casual Christianity”. Today we will examine our hearts in relation to the Heart of God and discover the “Perils of a Passionless Heart”.

The Plague Of A Restless Heart

Almost everyone I meet complains about being tired and not getting the rest they need. I know that they are speaking of the Physical rest that seems to escape most of us. But there is a greater rest that is needed; a rest that is a much higher rest. And if we don’t get it, we can’t even get the Physical rest we need. This much higher rest is a spiritual, “Heart” rest. You can only get this rest as a gift from God. Today we will examine this rest and discover the things that will keep us from having this wonderful gift.

We are all pursuing something. We strive all of our lives to attain to something bigger and greater than ourselves. Most will spend all of their lives in the pursuit of something that ends being unworthy of the time and effort. Very few ever realize what “Our Highest pursuit” should be. The Motherly Love of The Father

God is Spirit and is Holy - neither male nor female; even though Yahweh is referred to as “He” and “Father”. Genesis 1:27 says that God made male and female in His Image. Therefore it is my belief that attributes of a good mother are attributes of God also. Today we will continue with “The Heart of God” and discover how God the Father has Motherly Love.
