Labor Day Office Closure

In observance of Labor Day, the Holy Rosary Parish Office will be closed tomorrow, Monday, September 7.

We hope everyone enjoys a safe and restful Labor Day with family and friends! May we also take a moment to give thanks for the gifts, talents, and hard work of all those who serve our families, parish, and community each day.

The Parish Office will reopen on Tuesday, September 8th at 7:30am.

Today’s Gospel, Matthew 18:15–20, reminds us that relationships are not always easy, but Jesus calls us to handle conflict with love, honesty, and a desire for reconciliation.

When someone hurts us, it can be tempting to talk about them rather than talk to them. Jesus offers another way: go to the person, speak with love, listen, and seek peace.

Not every disagreement will be resolved perfectly, but we can choose to approach one another with humility instead of anger and prayer instead of gossip.

And Jesus leaves us with a beautiful promise:

“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Lord, help us be peacemakers today. Give us the courage to have difficult conversations with kindness, the humility to recognize when we are wrong, and hearts always willing to forgive.

May our words today heal more than they hurt and bring people closer rather than push them apart. 🤍

❤️ International Day of Charity ❤️

Today, we celebrate the International Day of Charity, a beautiful reminder that some of the greatest ways we can share Christ with others are through simple acts of love.

Charity isn’t always something big. It can be checking on someone who is lonely, helping a neighbor, providing a meal, offering our time, giving generously, or simply noticing someone who needs a little extra kindness.

As Catholics, we are called not only to speak about love, but to live it.

“Let us love not in word or speech but indeed and truth.” - 1 John 3:18

Today, let’s look for one opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ to someone around us. A small act of love can make a much bigger difference than we realize.

Lord, open our eyes to those in need and give us generous hearts ready to serve. May the way we care for one another always reflect Your love. 🤍

Today’s Gospel, Luke 6:1–5, reminds us that our faith is meant to draw us closer to God, not simply become a list of rules to follow.

When the disciples are criticized for picking grain on the Sabbath, Jesus reminds those around Him of what truly matters. God desires our hearts.

Rules and traditions can guide us, but they should always lead us toward a deeper love of God and one another.

It can be easy to notice what someone else is doing “wrong.” Jesus invites us instead to look at our own hearts and ask: Am I choosing mercy? Am I loving well? Am I allowing my faith to bring me closer to Him?

Lord, keep our hearts focused on You. Help us choose compassion over judgment and remember that everything we do in faith should ultimately lead us closer to Your love.

May we carry a little more grace and a little less judgment into the world today. 🤍

Today’s Gospel, Luke 5:33–39, reminds us that following Jesus means being willing to let Him make us new.

Jesus speaks of new wine needing fresh wineskins. Sometimes we ask God to change our circumstances while holding tightly to old habits, old hurts, or our own plans.

But Jesus doesn’t simply want to fit into the life we already have. He wants to transform it.

Maybe today is an opportunity to ask: What am I holding onto that God is asking me to release? Where is He inviting me to grow?

Lord, give us hearts open to Your work in our lives. Help us let go of what keeps us from growing closer to You and trust the new things You are doing within us.

May we be open today to wherever Jesus is leading. 🤍

Today’s Gospel, Luke 5:1–11, reminds us of what can happen when we trust Jesus, even when we are tired, discouraged, or convinced we already know the outcome.

After fishing all night and catching nothing, Simon hears Jesus say, “Put out into deep water.” Simon doesn’t understand, but he trusts, and the result is more than he could have imagined.

Sometimes Jesus asks the same of us: try again, trust again, go a little deeper.

Maybe you’ve been praying for something for a long time. Maybe you’re discouraged or wondering if your efforts are making any difference. Today, Jesus reminds us that He can do incredible things with our willingness to simply say, “At Your word, I will.”

Lord, when we are tired or discouraged, give us the faith to trust You one more time. Help us leave the safety of the shore and follow wherever You lead.

Today, don’t be afraid to put out into deep water. Jesus is already there. 🤍
