Well, well well tribute to my "Pastor of the Streets" my dad! on August 14th 2019 my best friend, generous, caring, joyful, loving father passed away! For those who did not get the pleasure to know him, he was a gentleman in the spirit! He was patience, long suffering, loving, stern when needed. He also offered guidance and counseled, gave shelter to many people. Till this day, I hear about all the kindness he showed to people, when just walking around Philadelphia, apparently I resemble him.
He was the calm in every storm and always approached problems with both a spiritual and practical solution. Even though he can be rough, He personified peace and Joy! In a nutshell: My father allowed you to go your process and became your safe place. He would encourage you, love on you. even though He was big on self-accountability, he could never stay upset for too long. I will say though He was very long-suffering. once you hit His limit, there was no arguing just a graceful goodbye. My father was steady, his methods were steady, very dependable, very easy going, and understood His assignment on the earth. He loved people and helping people. It was his joy! For ex: a week before His death, even during chemo, radiation, etc..you can always find Him handing out Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on the street right before he preached. He always said to me: This is how they know you are my disciples is by the love we show one to another! He felt it was his duty to love everyone! I know I possess many of his mannerism and qualities, I just pray this day that the love, joy, peace, and stability he displayed can be found when people encounter me!
