Do you have a little one in your life you'd like to introduce to camp? Our Little Ones program is an opportunity for children ages 3-7 and their adults to experience all the fun of camp together, including swimming and boating, hiking, songs & games, arts & crafts, and more. Little Ones campers enjoy two nights away from home, with each day's schedule, activities, and meals geared toward younger children and their family members. It's a great way for kids and families to get to know Skye Farm and can help prepare kids for success when they come by themselves for summer camp in the future.

This year's Little Ones retreat is Sunday, August 9th - Tuesday, August 11th. Each child must be accompanied by a guardian, max 2 children per guardian. The cost is $315 total for one adult and one child together and $85 for an additional child. Scholarship funds are available for those who need it.

Robyn & Hannah are at the United Methodists of Upper NY's Annual Conference in Syracuse! If you're at Annual Conference, come by the Camp & Retreat Ministries table downstairs to say hi and get some brand new CRM stickers.

Annual Conference is a great opportunity for us to be in fellowship with our larger United Methodist family as we learn, worship, and attend to the business of the church. Robyn and the other UNY site directors led workshops on Thursday and Friday about ways churches and camps can work together and and how to plan a church retreat, and Robyn even got up on the stage to share about the work of the Visioning Task Force she's been a part of!

Our summer camp lead team staff met this past weekend, planning and organizing for an amazing summer's worth of fun! (And of course, celebrating the start to the summer season with a trip to Martha's for ice cream 🍦)

This team of veteran staff includes, from left to right, back to front:
- Mikayla, Food Service Manager (runs our kitchen & dining hall and any programming with food; lifeguard and star-gazing activity expert)
- Tyler, Counselor Coordinator (supervises counselors, provides support and leads activities all over camp; king of the ballfield)
- Kevin, Faith Activity Coordinator (works with our volunteer chaplains, helping to coordinate and lead bible study, morning watch, worship, and other programming; off-site adventure trip enthusiast)
- Robyn, Site Director (oversees all of camp operations, including the waterfront as an experienced lifeguard manager and instructor; number 1 proponent of rice krispy treats for dessert)
- Emily, Activity Coordinator (plans program schedules, oversees the art barn and nature programming, lifeguard; most likely to find a four-leaf clover on the hill)
- Hannah, Assistant Director (oversees food service and hospitality operations, manages communications, marketing, and more; head of the SFPS, Skye Farm Postal Service)

We're very proud of this team and excited to welcome campers in just a little over a month!

Surprise!! It's a giant Adirondack chair! 🤩 Thursday Crew volunteers and amazing carpenters Ralph Marino and Ernie Melin started the process of building this chair last fall, and we're so happy with how it turned out. This chair will welcome you in to camp, located next to Kessler Hall. We hope it will become a memorable setting for pictures with campers and their families for many years to come!

There are a few finishing touches to the chair to be made, and then we're excited for our visitors at Open House on June 21st to break it in!

If you have a child in your life who wants to attend camp this year, this long weekend is a great time to register. Spots are filling fast, with many programs full or with limited spots remaining!

There's still time to register for the Skye Farm Foundation's 2nd Annual Golf Tournament on Sunday, June 7th! ⛳ Whether you've got a weekly tee time or you haven't dusted the clubs off in a while, this is a super fun event that raises funds for Skye Farm.

Join us for 9 holes of golf at the Van Patten Golf Club in Clifton Park, NY, and/or support the event with your business and sponsor a tee, a contest, or more. We'll be doing a shotgun start, scramble format, with "closest to the pin" and "longest drive" contests and a variety of prizes. Registration starts at 1pm, followed by 2pm tee time, and a 5pm casual dinner reception.

Your support of this event will help Skye Farm continue to fill kids’ summers with smiles, friendship, adventure and loving Christian community.

We're looking for one or two more female counselors to round out our summer staff team! Counselors should be age 17 or older, with a desire to help make camp as fun and safe as possible for kids throughout the summer. Our counselor position starts at $350 per week, and includes room & board.

Counseling staff get to experience the joy of camp alongside their campers, supervising, facilitating, and participating in camp activities with their small group of campers. Counselors receive extensive training to work hands-on with kids, sleeping in cabins with no more than 6-8 campers and working together with a co-counselor and other program staff throughout the week. It's an incredibly rewarding job, and helps staff grow valuable skills in leadership, problem solving, and more.

Additional Summer Staff 2026 logistics to know:
- Staff training starts Wednesday, June 17th for counseling and leadership staff and Sunday, June 21st for all other staff. Flexibility for students with regents exams or graduations is absolutely available.
- Room & board is included for all summer staff positions! Laundry facilities are available at camp for staff for free.
- The last day of work for most summer staff is Saturday, August 8th, with some positions continuing to support retreats later in August.
- Each week, staff have time off from Friday evening to Sunday morning at 10am, in addition to breaks during the day throughout the week.

It was a busy, beautiful day at Skye Farm today! Our annual kitchen opening day volunteers took the dining hall out of winter mode, cleaning and organizing just about everything! All dishes/utensils/pots & pans were sanitized, trash cans, storage racks, and more were power-washed, and our dry storage, cabinets, drawers, & counters got a hearty spring cleaning.

We were also joined by Shenendehowa UMC's Mission Possible volunteers, who got an amazing start on cleaning up the branches and leaves that came down over the winter around camp, cleaning up bark and branches from the trees that were taken down around the main parking lot, and more!

We all enjoyed the beautiful weather eating lunch by the lake! Thank you to all of the volunteers who put in the work today, thanks to you we're that much closer to welcoming guests and campers to main camp this summer. 🌞
