Skye Farm Camp and Retreat Center

A ministry of the United Methodists of Upper New York. We can serve groups ranging from 8 to 200 people, depending upon the season.

Skye Farm is a children's summer camp and year-round retreat center in the beautiful southeastern Adirondacks, sharing the love of God for neighbor, stranger, and Creation. Skye Farm Camp is a camp and retreat center owned and operated by the The Upper New York Conference of The United Methodist Church. We open our facility to churches, educational groups, and other nonprofit organizations without

regard to religious affiliation. Our site boasts over 450 wooded acres along the shores of the beautiful Sherman Lake. In addition to providing facilities for groups to conduct their own retreats, meetings, worship services, and programs, we can assist with program planning, guide groups through our low ropes course, conduct retreats and workshops, lead singing and games, and provide supervision for recreation activities. In the summer months (Mid June to Mid August) we operate as a Christian youth camp. All youth from ages 6 to 18 are invited to spend a week or more in one of our exciting summer camp programs.

Too old for summer camp? Want to enjoy a weekend getaway at camp with outdoor adventures and beautiful fall foliage? Our Young Adult Adventure Camp is running Thursday, September 17th - Sunday September 20th. We'll go whitewater rafting, tackle the high ropes course at ADK Extreme, and enjoy time at Skye Farm! The cost for the weekend is $300, with a special clergy rate of $200. Not able to come for the whole time? Reach out to us and we can make arrangements.

Our ADK Paddle campers adventured on Forked Lake, Raquette Lake, Brown's Tract, and Blue Mountain last week! Paddling a total of 24 miles, these campers and staff did a great job working together to paddle, set up camp, prepare meals, and find joy in the waters and woods around them. They even celebrated Christmas in July!

Offsite programs like this one offer a rare opportunity for teens to unplug and immerse themselves in nature, even more than at onsite programs. Campers step outside their comfort zones, overcoming the challenges that come with carrying all your food and gear through good weather and bad and bonding with one another in new ways. Inevitably, campers in week-long offsite programs come home bursting with stories they'll be telling for years, inside jokes only their fellow campers will really understand, and maybe even a new or changed relationship with God and God's Creation. 🧡🛶

Every day at Skye Farm is an Adirondack adventure, but our Week 3 ADK Adventures campers got an extra dose of outdoor fun last week! 🌲 These campers explored the woods and waters of Skye Farm, making the natural world around them part of their art, games, and experience of God's love at camp. They even got a visit from some of our naturalist friends from Up Yonda Environmental Education Center!

Oh, to be a teen (or tween!) at camp! Week 3's Night Owls and Rocks, Ropes, & Rivers campers were living the dream last week. The Night Owls stayed up late to enjoy everything from a glow in the dark dance party to stargazing and bonding around the campfire. Our RRR campers took on some of Skye Farm's favorite offsite adventure trips, including hiking Buck Mountain, tackling the high ropes course at Adirondack Extreme, canoeing on Putnam Pond , and white water rafting down the Hudson River Gorge with our friends at Square Eddy Expeditions.

There's nothing like watching Mini Campers experience the joy of camp for the first time! Week 2 started off with Mini Camp, our 2-night program. Campers got a first taste of lots of classic Skye Farm activities, from peace canoeing to down-by-the-banks, and spent some time playing games and enjoying worship led by our Voyagers leadership campers.
