Take a moment (maybe right now) and notice God's presence right where you are – even in environments that are not especially sacred. Notice how He's getting your attention with both His mercy & His righteousness.
As you gain clarity on His leading, you can persist like Moses did (in Peterson's words) “God, If your presence doesn’t take the lead here, call this trip off right now..." (Ex 33:15 msg)

You're not alone in this journey with Him. He's provided His Holy Spirit...and we're here too. :)

The story of Bartimaeus (Mark 10) teaches us many things:
- We must recognize who Jesus really is; both Powerful son of David - Great King, and Merciful compassionate Savior.
- We must realize our need for His mercy (rather than trying to get it together for Him first).
- We must listen for His voice (and keep on listening!)
- We must leave behind anything that hinders us.
- We must follow Jesus.

The cross saves us, but should also shape us.

As followers of Jesus, do we still believe in the cross? Or do we want to revert back to imposing our will on those we disagree with because we can?

Here’s a great rule of thumb Jesus is giving us right here in Mark 10:32-45.

Be wary of anyone who calls themselves a Christian while seeking the kingdom apart from the cross.
