About Our School:
We are a growing private Islamic school in Michigan dedicated to providing academic excellence within an Islamic environment. Our mission is to nurture students spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally while promoting strong Islamic values and character development.
We are seeking an experienced, visionary, and faith-centered leader to serve as our School Principal.
Mission: To transform the academy into a world-class Islamic institution by professionalizing every layer of operations and academics.
Position Summary:
We need a magnificent leader who is devoted to moving the institution forward to provide the highest level of education for children. Your primary goal is to implement standards and establish our school as the premier choice for the Michigan Muslim community.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership, Vision & Culture
• Provide strategic leadership aligned with the school’s mission, vision, and Islamic principles
• Establish and maintain a unified, professional school identity, bridging gaps between academic and religious staff
• Model akhlaq (character), integrity, and professionalism in all interactions
• Drive a culture of ihsan (excellence), accountability, and continuous improvement
2. Standardization & Professionalism
• Review, update, and enforce a comprehensive Staff Handbook aligned with best practices and Islamic values
• Establish and monitor clear protocols for:
o Parent communication
o Student discipline
o Staff attendance, punctuality, and conduct
• Eliminate operational inconsistencies by implementing standardized and well-defined processes that ensure efficiency and well-organized professional school environment
• Promote a professional work environment with clear expectations and accountability measures
3. Academic Integration & Excellence
• Maintain strong oversight of both general education and Islamic curriculum
• Serve as the lead liaison for:
o State and federal academic standards
o Hifz and Alimiyyah specialized programs
• Ensure a balanced, unified integration of rigorous academic instruction and intensive religious studies, maintaining excellence in both while fostering student engagement, growth, and well-being
• Monitor student performance to ensure all learners meet or exceed academic standards
• Support curriculum alignment, instructional quality, and assessment systems
4. Islamic Environment & Tarbiyah
• Ensure integration of Islamic values consistently across all subjects, policies, and the overall school culture
• Supervise Hifz, and Islamic studies programs with focus on quality and consistency
• Promote tazkiyah (self-development), discipline, and spiritual growth among students and staff
• Lead Islamic programming, events, and character-building initiatives
5. Staff Management & Development
• Recruit, supervise, and evaluate teaching and administrative staff
• Aligning all academic and religious staff under a shared vision with clearly defined, unified standards and expectations
• Provide professional development focused on instructional excellence and Islamic principles
• Address performance gaps through coaching, accountability, and structured feedback
6. Daily Operations & Process Optimization
• Within stipulated time, conduct a comprehensive review of:
o Daily schedules
o Classroom transitions
o Instructional time usage
• Eliminate inefficiencies, reduce informality, and ensure zero unnecessary downtime for students
• Implement well-organized routines that maximize learning time and engagement
• Oversee smooth day-to-day school operations with clear systems and accountability
7. Student Affairs
• Maintain a safe, disciplined, and nurturing Islamic environment
• Oversee admissions, attendance, behavior management, and student well-being
• Ensure consistent enforcement of discipline policies aligned with both best practices and Islamic principles
• Support holistic student development: academic, spiritual, and social
8. Governance & Compliance
• Implement policies set by the Board of Trustees / Governing Body
• Ensure compliance with state regulations, licensing, and accreditation requirements
• Maintain proper documentation, reporting, and internal controls
• Support audits, inspections, and risk management initiatives
9. Community Leadership & Engagement
• Serve as the primary representative and voice of the school within the community
• Build trust through active engagement with parents, community leaders, and organizations
• Develop strong parent-school partnerships through transparent communication
• Lead community outreach initiatives and promote the school’s mission
Required Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (required)
• Master’s degree in any discipline (preferred)
• Preferred fields of study include: Mathematics, Science, English, Business administration, Qur’anic Sciences, Hifz, or Islamic Studies
Experience
• Minimum 5 years of school leadership experience (preferred)
• Demonstrated success in improving school performance or leading academic and/or operational turnaround initiatives
Skills & Knowledge
• Language: Fully fluent in English with strong proficiency in Arabic
• Religious Knowledge: Solid grounding in Islamic studies and principles
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills

• Comfortable engaging in constructive, difficult conversations to uphold high standards, accountability, and performance excellence
