Northeast Christian Church

In Matthew 16, Jesus declares that He is building His Church on the rock of Peter’s confession. He is building His Church upon himself as the Christ, the Son of the Living God. In doing so, Jesus declares war on Hell and promises that the powers of Hell will not overcome it. As we live in a world in the midst of that war, we need to be deeply rooted in the Church not only for survival, but for victory. Join us this week as we dive into the word of God to find how we can grow deep roots in His Church!

We hope you join us as we gather for worship online and in person every Sunday at 10:30 am!

Last week, Jeff Wilhoit reminded us how important it is to be rooted in the Word of God. This week, as we examine that Word, we will find how important it is to be Rooted in Prayer. Jesus gave us an amazing example of how we should pray in Matthew 6. Shortly after the Church began, we see the importance of being rooted in prayer as it soon faced persecution. Let us learn from Jesus’ example and the early Church's example as we become followers of Jesus Christ, deeply rooted in prayer!

This Sunday, Cole will be preaching Rooted in Prayer. One of the songs we will be singing, The Lord's Prayer, is a really cool mix of scripture from Matthew 6: 9-13 and Revelation 4: 8-11. The verses and bridge are made up of the Lord's Prayer and the choruses are taken from Revelation. I look forward to worshipping with you all on Sunday!
