This past Sunday, we celebrated New Sunday, remembering when our patron saint, St. Thomas, proclaimed, “My Lord and My God!”

We also took time to recognize our 12th grade diploma graduates from last year, as well as our ATC winners. Also as part of our Sunday School House System, our children presented their final presentations following service.

Truly a blessed and momentous day as we came together to celebrate and uplift our Sunday School community!

Hosanna in the Highest! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!

This Sunday, we commemorated the Triumphant Entry of our Lord into Jerusalem. As Christ entered humbly, let us pray that He may soften our hearts and prepare us to walk with Him through this Passion Week.

Last week, we hosted our Annual Talent Competition (ATC) for our Sunday School students!

ATC encourages our youth to use their God-given talents through songs, elocutions, and memory verses—both individually and in groups. It’s always a joy to see our students grow in confidence, faith, and fellowship through this event.

A huge thank you to all our Sunday School teachers and volunteers who made this possible. Glory to God!

On November 8, 2025, Detroit FOCUS held their first ever One Day Conference. We had a wonderful guest speaker, Fr. Silouan Cohen of the OCA church from Baton Rouge, LA. Father guided us through the theme of the conference, which was “Steering Through Sorrow: Navigating Grief, Healing and Hope in Orthodox Tradition”. His personal life experiences of grief through the loss of his oldest daughter to leukemia, was a powerful testimony in reminding us God is always with us in every storm. Many participants shared that the sessions were emotional and inspiring, especially about a topic that is not discussed as often. We also got to enjoy two workshops led by Kochamma Mrs. Lijin Thomas and Mrs. Santha Varghese, who shared with us practical ways to navigate grief in the community and within ourselves.

Thank you to all who attended the conference! Thank you to the hard working committee who helped plan the conference. And a special thanks to the MGOCSM members who provided childcare so many parents could participate in the conference. We hope to see many more at our future FOCUS events.
