Last night we kicked off our summer MidWeek schedule with hot dogs, games, fellowship, and a great opportunity for folks to come, visit, eat, laugh, and spend time together as a church family.
And we had a great turnout! All ages were represented. Some came early to help. Some came straight from work or other responsibilities as soon as they could. It was a great reminder that church fellowship matters.
Church is not just something we attend on Sunday. The church is a family. And families make time for one another.
I know life is busy. I know everyone has responsibilities. I know there are times when we are tired and do not feel like coming. But sometimes the most spiritually healthy thing we can do is show up anyway. Not because we are trying to earn anything from God, but because we need the encouragement of God’s people, and others need our encouragement too.
Parents, this matters for your children. Your kids are learning what matters most by what you make time for. They are watching whether church is a priority or just something we do when nothing else is going on. One of the greatest examples we can set for our children is showing them that being part of the church family matters.
Hebrews 10:24–25 reminds us, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together…”
Church fellowships, meals, Bible studies, and gatherings are not meaningless extras. They are opportunities to build relationships, encourage one another, serve one another, and grow together in Christ.
Thank you to everyone who came, helped, served, brought your family, and made the effort to be there. Let’s keep making the gathering of God’s people a priority—not only when it is convenient, but because Christ is worthy and His church matters.
