PRESS RELEASE:
Dear Family & Friends of Hope Harbor Ministries, Incorporated.
After intense prayer, careful consideration and under the guidance of the Legal Council representing Hope Harbor Incorporated, the Board of Directors, Advisors and Founders of Hope Harbor, Inc have arrived at the unanimous decision to wind down the operations of Hope Harbor Ministries.
Due to new and stringent Legislative Rules and Regulations placed on Narcotic Recovery Centers for the State of Georgia, new Mandates signed in 2024, Hope Harbor, Inc has experienced insurmountable challenges to our organization's operations & sustainability. That being said, these new regulations will not allow Hope Harbor, Inc to operate “as is” and fulfill the needs of our initial Mission Statement in which Hope Harbor, Inc was founded.
The decision to proceed with the Dissolution of our 501c3 non-profit Hope Harbor, Inc. comes with difficult emotion as the restructure of Hope Harbor Inc with the new State of Georgia Guidelines is not an option due to the expenditures & new framework required.
The Founders of Hope Harbor, Inc have extended the offer of carrying on the legacy of Hope Harbor, Inc to several other non-profit & church organizations with no interest shown as taking over operations and expenses must fall in line with the new Georgia Mandates that are now in place. These failed efforts have helped us reach the decision to allow the sun to set on Hope Harbor, Inc and for the Founders of Hope Harbor Incorporated the opportunity to pursue their Works of Faith & Prison Ministry in a different capacity.
We are truly sensitive to the impact this decision will have on our Donors, Supporters, Family & Friends. With that said, we desire to be straightforward and transparent in letting our supporters know that Hope Harbor, Inc has halted all recurring payments through our Donor Base and we will no longer be accepting monetary Gifts, Donations or Tuition Deposits moving forward.
We ask that you celebrate with us as we reminisce in gratitude over the precious years of lives changed, families restored, healed relationships and individuals who were placed on a path of salvation at Hope Harbor.
We also ask that you celebrate with us as The Board of Directors recognize Stan and Dee Clark as having served faithfully as the organization's administrators, directors, managers and operators for 30+ years. It does not go unrecognized that Stan and Dee have invested a tremendous amount of time, personal money, labor, love, sweat and tears into Hope Harbor Ministries with minimal to no compensation. That being the case, The Board of Directors has legally, lawfully and unanimously agreed on a Resolution that enables the Clarks to purchase Hope Harbor Ministries property while crediting Stan and Dee in expense reimbursements and uncompensated remembrance over those 30 years.
The Board of Directors has reviewed receipts, vouchers and other evidence of unreimbursed expenses over the last 30 years and recognizes that Stan and Dee have devoted their entire lives and life savings to the mission of Hope Harbor Incorporated without any expectation of reimbursement, benefits or retirement. The Board of Directors stands firm in their decision as it is only appropriate for Stan and Dee to be remembered in an appropriate manner and shall have the opportunity to call Hope Harbor Campus, their HOME during their sunset years.
It is our absolute honor to announce that Stan and Dee Clark will be able to carry on the Hope Harbor legacy as they will continue Kingdom Work at Hope Harbor in a capacity that better suits them in this stage of their lives. And - while Hope Harbor, Inc. may no longer be a registered 501c3, Mama Dee and Pops will always be disciples for the Lord and “in the business” of leading others to Him.
Thank you all for your support, love and prayers throughout the years.
Sincerely & God Bless,
The Board of Directors & PR Team for Hope Harbor Ministries, Inc.
