Today's worship of our Lord included three very special times of God's work in the life of First Baptist Church. The special music was provided by the Handbell Choir under the direction of Frankie Jacobs. After years of absence, the handbells were ringing and glorifying our Lord again ringing "Holy, Holy, Holy". This dream of handbells ringing again became a reality today.
Jacob Nelson brought a challenging and transformative the message this morning—his first as Ministry Intern with FBC from Ephesians 6 and Matthew 4 focusing on importamce of the Word of God in our lives during difficult and challenging times.
First Baptist Church unanimously called Leah Golden Wilson Golden Wilson as Worship Leader for the summer. Leah will begin this week to serve with FBC. We are all excited by the movement of God's Spirit leading us into an exciting future.

Our March 8th service was a special one. Floyd was back in the pulpit after four weeks away recovering from heart surgery was a great joy and a time of deep thanksgiving. He was truly thankful for the Lord’s grace and for the prayers and encouragement from our church family.

One of our favorite musical moments is when the Special Music becomes a “Call Up Choir,” with all ages coming forward to fill the choir loft and sing. They were led by Arlene Burton and pianist Frankie Jacobs. The choir sang He Keeps Me Singing and Victory in Jesus.

First Baptist Church also enthusiastically voted to license Jacob Nelson to the Gospel ministry. This license is FBC acknowledging and affirming Jacob’s calling by the Lord to preach, teach, and live the Gospel as he begins his journey of fulfilling that calling. It also communicates to other churches that FBC supports Jacob as he grows in his understanding of God’s specific call on his life and can be trusted to preach the Gospel, teach God’s Word, and live according to His Word.

We are thankful for the many ways God continues to bless and guide our church family. Our hope remains firmly in His love and in His faithful promises.

The Love Feast at FBC ❤️

Another beautiful evening filled with love, laughter, and voices lifted in songs celebrating God’s great love for us.

The Love Feast traces back to the earliest days of the church. Its foundation is found in Acts 2:42, 46–47:

“They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer… Day by day, continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people.”

This gathering became a meaningful part of the early church and came to be known as the Love Feast. A celebration of God’s love for us through Jesus Christ, Christ’s love for us, and our love for one another as we live out His command to “love one another as I have loved you.”

We praised Him through songs of love, affirming our faith in God’s love for us, our love for Him, and our love for each other.

What a sweet time of fellowship and worship together. 💛
