“My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; yet, not as I will, but as you will.” — Matthew 26:39

Today we enter into the Passion of the Lord. From the Upper Room to Gethsemane, from betrayal to the cross, we witness the depth of Christ’s love.

Jesus does not resist the Father’s will. He embraces it, even when it leads to suffering. In His silence before His accusers, in His forgiveness from the cross, we see love poured out completely.

Holy Week invites us to walk with Him. To remain near in prayer. To trust that even in darkness, God’s plan of salvation is unfolding.

🙏 Lord, give us the courage to follow You through the cross, trusting in the promise of the Resurrection.

INDEPENDENCE!
What a powerful, poetic word. It conjures up images of celebration and flowing rewards as the result of self generated successes.
Looking closer, independence did not result from a one by one vision or resolve. It came from a recognition embraced by many and believed by the majority. It came from a solid support from mother's and father's; from neighbors and leaders; from farmers and craftsmen.
At its root was a belief that hard work, sound advice and accountability make our dreams possible in a place where equality is real.
Independence. It is something each of us desires but is not sustainable without adherence to responsibility.
It does not mean conceit with disrespect for others, it means conducting ourselves in a manner that nurtures each other's desire while maintaining opportunities for everyone. Independence. Worth standing up for. Worth sacrificing for. Gratitude for those before us who did those things so we can enjoy the benefits of such Freedom.
Today reflect on what it means to you. To those who you care about. To our great Nation. Be humble in our fortunes. Be grateful many held and still hold the line to preserve it. Be Proud you are part of a legacy of people who continue to display the honor of saying, "I am an American!".
After all, we are One Nation, Under God, Indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for All. INDEPENDENCE.
