On Saturday, September 26th, there is going to be a prayer march in Washington, DC. Since most of us cannot make it to Washington, our church has decided to go to the state capital to pray. Our plan is to pray at specific locations for specific needs, starting in front of the capital building at 10am. We would like to encourage others to go pray also.
Here is some information to remember:
THIS IS NOT A RALLY, PROTEST, OR ANYTHING POLITICAL. IT IS A PRAYER WALK ONLY!
THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL GATHERING. As a church, we feel led to do a prayer walk at our capital and pray for our country, our state and our leaders. We just wanted to let others know in case you feel led to go also.
If you need a ride, we will be leaving from our church at 8:30am.
We have no set time to return. If you would like to go pray, but are on a time schedule, you may want to drive separately.
Again, we will be praying at specific locations. If the Lord leads you to pray elsewhere or differently, please do. We are firm believers in following the leading of the Lord.
If you cannot go to Frankfort, we encourage you to walk your communities and pray. Take some of your friends and family with you. We cannot stress enough the importance of prayer for our families, communities, state and country.
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. - 1 Timothy 2:1-4
*this is our tentative plan. We will give updated information if anything changes.
