“God so loved the world…”

“God so loved the world…”

The theme for the final week of Advent is LOVE.

God so loved the world and Mary so loved God.

What a beautiful love to bring the purest, most unconditional love into the world.

A love for you and me. With no expectations. Nothing to prove or earn. Just to be given and to be received. There is nothing better than that.

As we head into Christmas this week, may we remember this beautiful love that came down. May we not hold back our love but generously pour it out onto others.

More than ever, our world needs love. When we share love, we give others hope, peace, and joy. We give them a glimpse of Jesus.

Praying you feel His love!
Amber

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

Archbishop Henning shares this statement with our Jewish brothers and sisters in the Archdiocese on the first night of Hanukkah:

"To our Jewish neighbors and friends here in Boston and its surrounding communities, I offer a heartfelt wish for shalom. During this Festival of Lights we recall the liberating power of God and the miracle of the light that shines in the darkness. As has been the case too many times, we hear again the news of hate-fueled violence against the Jewish people. I can only imagine that such injustice may leave you feeling alone. You are not alone. The Lord is with you, and we your Catholic neighbors and friends honor the light of God that shines in your families and in your communities. Please accept my prayerful best wishes, along with those of the clergy, religious, and faithful of the Archdiocese of Boston.
As you light the menorah and recall the brightness of the Temple’s re-dedication may the Lord banish the darkness and give us the blessing of peace.
Blessed is the Lord our God.
Hanukkah Sameach! Happy Hanukkah!"

Most Reverend Richard G. Henning
Archbishop of Boston

It was of him that the prophet Isaiah had spoken when he said:
A voice of one crying out in the desert,
Prepare the way of the Lord,
make straight his paths. Matthew 3:3

So too, you also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come." Mt 24: 44

“But since we are of the day, let us be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love and the helmet that is hope for salvation. For God did not destine us for wrath, but to gain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep we may live together with him. Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, as indeed you do.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:8-11

Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla is not one to hide his Catholic faith. Known to make Gospel references during press conferences, have special seats reserved courtside for Catholic priests, and carry a gargantuan Rosary around, the NBA coach just revealed the biggest news of all: his desire to become a Catholic deacon.
