It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our church member, Dr. Lance Sims.

We extend our deepest love and sympathy to his wife, Liz, their children, Jack, Carter, and Lacey, his parents, and all of Lance’s family and friends. We also remember the many people whose lives he touched through his care and service to others.

WALTERBORO Mrs. Nell Barwick Walters, wife of the late Robert E. Bobby Walters Sr, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 5, 2026, at Magnolias of Walterboro, with her family by her side. It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved church member, Mrs. Miriam "Coot" Westbury, who entered into her eternal rest on Sunday, August 2.

Miriam was a faithful presence in the life of Bethel United Methodist Church, and her kindness, steadfast faith, and gentle spirit touched many lives. We give thanks for the years she shared with our church family and rejoice in the promise of Christ's resurrection.

Please keep her family and loved ones in your prayers during this time of loss, especially as they celebrate a life so well lived.

WALTERBORO Mrs. Miriam Virginia Rentz Westbury, affectionately known as Coot, widow of the late Lee Wendell Westbury Sr., passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 2, 2026 at the home of her daughter in Walterboro, under hospice care, with her family by her side. She was
