At yesterday's service, we commemorated Trinity Sunday and explored one of the clearest and earliest Trinitarian blessings of the early church.

Why does the Trinity matter? Because it gives us a glimpse into the very life of God—and, in turn, offers us deeper insight into ourselves. If God’s very essence is communion, relationship, and love, then perhaps we, too, come to know ourselves most fully not in isolation, but in community. Tune in to listen, learn, reflect, and grow. The choir blessed the worship with “Let All the World in Every Corner Sing” as the introit and “Find Us Faithful” as the anthem.

Many thanks to the rest of our worship leaders this morning!
-Jackie Navarro for serving as liturgist
-Bailynn Morris for serving as acolyte
-Mikaela Hill for recording the service
-Nico Marucut for being our accompanist
-Sandy Woolley and Julie Fisher for providing the delicious treats for coffee hour.

It has been a heavy week for many of us as we grieve this loss in our church community. Information about Jake’s memorial service will be shared soon, but in the meantime, Jake’s friends are hosting a vigil near the train tracks where he was killed. This is taking place tonight (Friday, May 29) at 6:30 p.m. at 728 S. Lemon Ave. in the City of Industry. You can park in the complex nearby.

Come with a candle to light (and bring one to share as well) and a flower to place at the memorial site. In times like these, it is good to be together. Pastor Mike DeGuzman will also be there to pray with anyone who may need it during this difficult time.

And of course, as always, we invite you to worship with us this Sunday at 10 a.m. Through all the ups and downs of life, God remains steadfast in love. Let us come together to nourish our souls and connect with one another.

What a powerful Pentecost Sunday it was yesterday!

Together, we remembered the day the Spirit came upon a gathered community and breathed life into what we now know as the church.

One of the questions we explored was: Why doesn’t every Sunday look like Pentecost?

Pastor Lydia reflected on the idea of “beginner’s luck”—how everything, in its earliest and most fragile stage, often needs extra care, extra grace, and extra power to take root and grow. But that does not mean the Spirit is any less powerful now.

The Spirit is still moving. Still breathing, gathering us, shaping us. Still reminding us, week after week, who we are and whose we are.

We are so grateful to our choir, who brought even more life and beauty to this Pentecost celebration through their music. They blessed us with “Let All the World in Every Corner Sing” as the introit, “This Is My Wish,” featuring Hannah Gultom as soloist, and “My Tribute” as the sung response.

Many thanks to the rest of our worship leaders for the morning:
-Jenelle Henderson for serving as liturgist
-Annalise Amezcua for serving as acolyte
-Mikaela Hill for recording the service
-Nico Marucut for being our accompanist
-Jeff Chamlee for providing the beautiful altar flowers in honor of Jenelle's birthday
-Stacy Manfredi and Jackie Navarro for providing the delicious treats for coffee hour.

For yesterday's Ascension Day service, our focal passage was John 17:1–11, delving into a topic so, so relevant to all of us.

And that is: when do we know when a season, calling, chapter, or project is done?

Jesus reveals that answer to us.

Is it when things get hard? No. When life becomes challenging? Not necessarily. When we are tired and ready to stop? No.

So how do we know when the time has come? Tune in to listen, reflect, worship, and grow.

Many thanks to the rest of our worship leaders this morning!
-The choir who blessed the service with “Let All the World in Every Corner Sing” as the introit, “Master, the Tempest Is Raging” as the anthem, and “My Tribute” as the sung response.

-Mikaela Hill for recording the service
-Nico Marucut for being our accompanist

Yesterday, we shared in a delightful celebration of love, care, and nurture. During the service, the children presented roses to all those who have mothered others—biologically, spiritually, emotionally, or through their loving care. They also blessed us with a special song and poem.

The choir offered “Let All the World in Every Corner Sing” as the introit and “God Is So Good” as the anthem, featuring a solo by Elainah Wu.

Pastor Lydia preached on John 10:1–10, where Jesus teaches us how to discern the voices we follow, the paths we choose, and the next faithful steps in our lives.

Tune in to worship together, reflect, and celebrate the many mothers and mothering figures in our lives.

On this rainy spring morning—the Fifth Sunday of Easter—we gathered around Jesus’ words in John 14, where he speaks of “many dwelling places” in God’s house and promises to prepare a place for us. Though this passage is often heard at funerals as a vision of heaven, Pastor Lydia invited us to consider a deeper, more present meaning: that this “dwelling” may be something we experience even now. Tune in to listen, reflect, and grow.

The choir blessed the service with “Let All the World in Every Corner Sing” as the introit, “My Tribute” as the sung response, and “Christ, We Do All Adore Thee” as the anthem. As it was also Communion Sunday, we received the sacrament of Holy Communion together.

Many thanks to the rest of our worship leaders for the morning!
-Don Driftmier for serving as liturgist
-Hugh Rogers for serving as acolyte
-Mikaela Hill for recording the service
-Nico Marucut for being our accompanist
-Jeff and Carol Chamlee for serving coffee hour

What a beautiful Fourth Sunday of Easter it was yesterday!

We continued in the Gospel of John, witnessing what unfolded after the resurrection. On this Sunday, we encountered another resurrection story—one that met the disciples after they slipped back into old patterns. We’ve all been there, haven’t we? Those moments when something we thought would change everything… didn't. And we found ourselves right back in familiar habits, wondering if we’ve made any progress at all.

There’s a particular kind of discouragement in that. It can feel like we’ve gone all the way back to square one.

But here’s the truth: we haven’t.

If you’re not quite sure where you are right now—spiritually, emotionally, or otherwise—this message is for you. Tune in to learn, reflect, and grow.

Many thanks to the rest of our worship leaders:
-Our choir who blessed the service with beautiful music, offering “Open Our Eyes, Lord” as the introit and “It Is No Secret” as the anthem.
-Jackie Navarro for serving as liturgist
-Julianna Amezcua for serving as acolyte
-Mikaela Hill for recording the service
-Nico Marucut for being our accompanist
-Jackie Navarro for providing the beautiful altar flowers

What a beautiful Second Sunday of Easter it was. We had the joy and privilege of welcoming Pastor Jimmy Nih to lead us in worship and to bring the Word, while Pastor Lydia spent meaningful time with our youth group. If your spirit is in need of encouragement, we invite you to listen to his message and be lifted up.

Our heartfelt thanks as well to the choir for enriching our worship so beautifully: “Open Our Eyes, Lord” as the introit, the “Because He Lives” Medley as the anthem, and “O Sing to the Lord” as our sung response.

And many thanks to the rest of our worship leaders this morning:
-Chris Green for serving as liturgist
-Bailynn Morris for serving as acolyte
-Mikaela Hill for recording the service
-Nico Marucut for being our accompanist
-Julie Fisher and Sandy Woolley for providing the refreshments for coffee hour
