Hey there and welcome to Walloon Lake for our next installment of the series Forging Faith, led by Campus Pastor Brant Cole.

What do you do when life feels like one challenge after another? In this message from 1 Peter 4:12–19, we explore how God meets us in seasons of suffering, pressure, disappointment, and uncertainty. Rather than seeing trials as signs that God has abandoned us, Peter teaches that they can become opportunities for deeper faith, greater intimacy with Christ, and lasting spiritual growth.
If you've ever struggled with unanswered prayers, painful circumstances, or questions about what God is doing in your life, this sermon offers biblical encouragement and practical hope. Discover why the fire you're facing may not be pointless, how to remain faithful when life gets hard, and how to trust the Faithful Creator who is shaping you even in the heat of life's greatest challenges.

We started the book of Psalms yesterday in our journey to Read the Bible in a Year.

If you’re confused by all the repetition and it seems like someone just threw a bunch of random poetry together in one book, then you should check out this video from the BibleProject 👇👇

Watch our overview video on the book of Psalms, which breaks down the literary design of the book and its flow of thought. The book of Psalms has been design...

We always say things like: “Friday’s coming.” “The weekend is almost here.” “Sunday can’t get here fast enough.” And those things are good. Gathering with God’s people matters.

But what if we flipped the script?

What if church wasn’t just the place we go on Sunday morning?
What if we remembered that we are the Church?

The Church in our workplaces.
The Church in our neighborhoods.
The Church in our schools.
The Church in everyday conversations and ordinary moments.

What if instead of just saying “Sunday’s coming,” we also said:
“Monday is coming.”

Not with dread; but with purpose.
With passion.
With expectation.

Because Monday means another opportunity to love people, serve people, carry the presence of Jesus, and reach one more for Him.

The gathering matters.
But the mission continues when we leave the building.

Prayer is not our last resort; it’s our first response. At Walloon Lake Community Church, we believe prayer is our power because prayer connects us to the presence, wisdom, and strength of God.

Before we plan, we pray.
Before we move, we seek Him.
Before we rely on ourselves, we depend on Jesus.

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Colossians 4:2
