We had a productive Generation Spark meeting tonight. We shared our joys and concerns and talked about scripture as it relates to both the Generation Spark and Prayer Paws ministries. We shared our ideas and did some planning for our Kick Off event scheduled for next fall. We hope that all older adults and kids will join Prayer Paws. We need YOU! Please see the attached information and let us know as soon as you can.

Today’s lesson was God’s Love Never Stops. We started our lesson by playing with hula hoops. A hula hoop can remind us of God’s love. A circle keeps going and going just like God’s love for us, even when we make bad decisions. We read and acted out the parable of the Prodigal Son using action figures. The younger son asked for his inheritance and then ran off and spent all of it. When he was starving later, he realized that he had acted irresponsibly and had disrespected his father. When he came back home to ask his father for a job, his father rejoiced at his return. Like the father in the story, God continues to love us. Talk about Good News!!

Today’s lesson was Jesus Saves Us. We started by playing a game where we walked quickly on pool noodle circles (which required good balance). Everyone managed to beat Mr. Jeff’s time but we all agreed it would have been easier if we had a guide to keep us on the right path. We then learned that’s what Jesus provides for us in our lives. We listened to Romans 10:9-10 and Luke 24:1-3 to hear how Jesus saves us from our sin. We used pipe cleaners to make props for the story. We learned that even though we all sin, we can always ask for forgiveness and we will be forgiven. Alleluia!!

Today’s lesson was about how God gives us power! We did workout moves instructed by each of us. We learned about the Trinity and used ping pong balls to demonstrate how Jesus (and people we know) leave us, but can then return to us just as Jesus did on Easter.

No pictures this week - we were too busy doing pushups and other exercises! 😃
