Verses of the day: Deuteronomy 10:12-13 NLT: "And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the LORD your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey the LORD's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good." Blessings!

I love the simplicity and practicality of God' Word. In Deuteronomy 6:18 NLT, Moses told the people of Israel, "Do what is right and good in the LORD's sight, so all will go well with you." Even unbelievers are blessed and have things go better, when they do what the Lord has said is right. If we read in the Bible, then we will know what He wants us to do. However, none of us can do it all, all the time, good enough. That's why we're so thankful to be celebrating Holy Week right now. Jesus paid for every time we messed up, died in our place, and rose again, so that we can live with the LORD forever. Does His blood cover your sin today? Praise the Lord, and continue to do what is right and good in His sight!

Good morning! When we think of the fruit of the Spirit becoming more evident in our lives, we don't think of complaining, criticizing or doubting God's promises. In Numbers chapter 11, the Israelites had traveled a long time, having left the land they grew up in, and all the familiar things. As often happens when we begin an adventure in faith, they started looking backwards. They missed their familiar cuisine. Then, they made the mistake of complaining about it, which was heard by God. He gave them the meat they craved, but because they hadn't appreciated his provision of manna along their journey, many were struck down by the plague the Lord sent as they ate. Complaints and discontent have consequences. Then, Aaron and Miriam criticized their brother, and leader, Moses, for having married a Cush*te woman (chapter 12). It was almost as if they didn't think anyone could hear them. But, God did. The Lord was very angry with them, and he departed, leaving Miriam with leprosy. Moses prayed for her, after Aaron begged him to, and she was kept outside the camp for seven days because she was defiled.

Unfortunately, the people hadn't learned not to doubt or complain against what they saw the Lord doing. When the 12 spies from Israel explored the Promised Land, 10 came back with good reports of the land, but fearful reports of the inhabitants. Only two were faithful, encouraging the people to trust the Lord to keep his promises. The people listened to the loudest voices, the 10 complainers. Those adults were never allowed into the Promised Land. (Numbers, chapters 13 to 14)

May we who have the Holy Spirit living inside of us fight the temptation to complain, criticize and doubt. May we hold on to the promises in God's Word, the Holy Bible, and speak what He speaks. May we not complain about the gifts in our lives. May we not criticize people who are imperfect, but seek to follow the Lord's will. Then, may we see His promises to us fulfilled, as we praise His holy name. Blessings on the journey!

Good morning! Sometimes, it is hard to know how to pray for someone else. Obviously, we can pray for the Lord's perfect will to be done in their lives, that they would come to salvation and grow in their faith, but if we want to specifically seek the Lord's blessing and favor on them, then we can pray directly from Scripture. In Numbers 6:24-26 NLT, we are given the blessing that the Lord directly gave to Moses to share with Aaron and his sons. We can pray this blessing over our children, loved ones, and friends, as well: "May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Indeed, praying for the Lord to do so for you, as well. Blessings!

Good morning! While we are watching wars and rumors of wars all around the world, we can have perfect peace in the midst of trouble. In Psalm 3:5 NLT, King David says, "I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me." Trust in the Lord. He is not surprised by anything going on. He loves us. We can entrust ourselves to His care. Blessings!

Good morning! Do you dream of a special project that you would love to be able to complete, but feel like you just aren't gifted in the areas needed to accomplish it? Have you asked the Lord to give you the specific gifts and abilities you would need in order to succeed? The Lord does not change.

In the book of Exodus, Bezalel had been chosen to lead the people in skillfully making everything necessary for the tabernacle as the Israelites wandered in the wilderness. He didn't have sewing machines or power tools, but we are told in chapter 35:31, "The Lord has filled Bezalel with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts."

Remember that it is the Lord who gives us the desires of our hearts. If you want to make something beautiful and do not know how, then ask the Lord for the wisdom and ability you will need to do it! Nothing is impossible for those who are called according to His purposes. May you dream big, pray bigger, and accomplish amazing things to the glory of God! Blessings!

Good morning! How can you encourage someone who is facing a giant in their lives? A crisis that seems to our earthly eyes insurmountable. In Exodus 14, we see the Israelites have escaped Egypt, begun to follow God on the path that He chose for them, and they look up and see the best of the Egyptian army in hot pursuit. Did Israel say, "Look what the Lord has done?" Nope. We're told in verse 10 that, "As Pharoah approached, the people of Israel looked up and panicked when they saw the Egyptians overtaking them."

Moses, who had some experience with God's awesome power, responded to their fear in verses 13-14, "But Moses told the people, 'Don't be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.'"

The Egyptians did not believe in God. They wanted their slaves back. As they pursued the Israelites, they started to realize their mistake. By verse 25, "'Let's get out of here-away from these Israelites!' the Egyptians shouted. 'The Lord is fighting for them against Egypt!'" By then, it was too late for the Egyptians. Verse 28 tells us that, "Of all the Egyptians who had chased the Israelites into the sea, not a single one survived."

We who have seen the Lord work miracles need to stir up our faith, and encourage those we come in contact with to know Him as well. God can clear a path in the wilderness, if we trust Him. He wants to bless those who choose to follow Him. Remind those facing giants that the Lord is the one who fights our battles. Nothing is impossible for Him. May your day be blessed!

Good afternoon! Today, we are reminded that no matter what difficult situations we face, or how long it has been since we've seen what we expected to see, God is still moving and blessing us. It is our choice as to where we focus our attention.

In the book of Genesis, we see the favorite son of Jacob (Israel), Joseph, having had wonderful dreams at home in comfort. Then, he faced tremendous betrayal and horrible circumstances. When others saw him in the midst of those circumstances, however, they did not see a gloomy complainer. Genesis 41:38 NLT records Pharaoh asking his officials, "Can we find anyone else like this man so obviously filled with the spirit of God?"

Soon thereafter, Joseph was married and had two sons. He named the first Manasseh, for he said, 'God has made me forget all my troubles....' Then, he had another son, which he named Ephraim, for he said, 'God has made me fruitful in the land of my grief.'

There is nothing wrong with grieving losses, circumstances, hardship, etc. God is not interested in our denial. He is interested, however, in our response to Him during our difficulties. Will those around us see that we are filled with the Holy Spirit, regardless of what circumstances we face? May we all shine for the Lord in every circumstance, and may we continue to praise Him for his many blessings....

Good morning! Don't you love how the Lord can take a scoundrel and turn them into people who depend on God for provision? Jacob (who literally tricked and deceived his brother to steal his inheritance and blessing), had learned to pray when he faced battles.

Some battles that we fight are here because we brought them on by our own choices. Instead of giving us what we 'deserve,' our God has mercy when we ask Him humbly.

In Genesis 32:11-12 NLT, Jacob prayed, "O Lord, please rescue me from the hand of my brother, Esau. I am afraid that he is coming to attack me, along with my wives and children. But you promised me, 'I will surely treat you kindly, and I will multiply your descendants until they become as numerous as the sands along the seashore-too many to count.'" Later in that same chapter, the Lord changed his name from Jacob "deceiver" to Israel "God fights."

Throughout the entire Bible, the people who decided to surrender all to God find that they no longer fight their battles alone. May we all turn to the Lord and let Him fight our battles. Blessings!

Good morning! If today you are looking for provision, and you cannot see where to find it, then copy Abraham. After he was obedient to the Lord's instructions, he was in need of a sacrifice. Where did he look? Up. We are told in Genesis 22:13-14 NLT, that after Abraham was willing to sacrifice the son of the promise and God stopped him, "Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket. So he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of his son. Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means 'the Lord will provide'). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb, 'On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.'"

Nothing is impossible. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. Stay faithful, stay in His Word, and remind yourself that 'on the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.' Blessings!

Good morning! Let us be like King David, who tells us in Psalm 62:1-2 NLT, "I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken." Keep your eyes on Jesus, not the circumstances. He alone brings our victory. Blessings!
