Have you ever truly sat and thought about what that word truly means to you?

What do you like to have control over? Your work, kids, husband, pets, life? But are YOU truly the one that’s in control? Sure you may make the decisions and have a plan but who carves out your steps? Who can shatter that control and humble you to release FULL control of all the plans you thought you may have?

GOD, the one and only who TRULY has control!

Proverbs 16:9 is a powerful reminder that while we may make our own plans, it is the Lord who establishes our steps.
“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”
This can truly be a have verse to swallow. Especially for someone like me that likes to have a plan and certainly be in control of that plan! But God has show me time and time again, sometimes during some really rough seasons, that it’s NOT my plan, it’s HIS and no matter what plan I may have at the end of the day he can turn that plan of mine right upside down! We may not like it, we may not understand why but we have to have faith in the Lord that he has a reason. Even if it’s something tragic that ruined your plans ultimately HE has a reason for it and HE will bring you through it!

Psalm 4:3 reassures me that when I call on the Lord, He hears me. “You can be sure of this: The Lord set apart the godly for himself. The Lord will answer when I call on him.” He doesn’t tell us we will get the answer we might want or even the time we may want it, but he does tell us that if YOU are the Lords and YOU have a relationship a true relationship with HIM he WILL answer you!! He may be trying to teach you patience in that waiting for the answer but know when HE is ready you will get the answer he has for you!! Think about how reassuring that is! Your husband or your child may not respond and answer you, but know Gods got your back and he will provide the answer!! Talk to him like he is your friend. Ask him to show you the way he wants you to go. Have that open line of communication, he can truly be your best friend if you let him!

It cost nothing to be kind! Just keep in mind they may have a smile on their face but you never truly know what may be going on behind that smile. Your acts of kindness may be just what they need that day!

CONTROL

GOD, the one and only who TRULY has control!

Over the past few years, through many trials and uncertainties, God has been teaching me what it truly means to trust Him completely. As someone who likes to be in control, surrendering my plans, fears, and worries is a daily challenge. And something I continue to work on. But His Word constantly reminds me that I am not truly the one in control and that I do not have to carry that burden alone.

At the end of the day, I am learning that true peace comes not from being in control, but from trusting the One who is. His plan is always greater than my own. I have learned to look at life a lot differently as I have gotten older. Loss, grief, death, medical unknowns, anxiety, stress, ADD, all the day to day seasons we may be going through. It’s a season. There will be ups and downs in life, but if you give all the CONTROL to God he will help you see it through to the other side and might even help you realise why you had to go through what you went through to get to where you are. There may be things we go through as Christians that we will never understand, but God does, and he will listen to your cry.

At the end of each day ask God to help you truly surrender all the CONTROL to him and pray you get a new day the next day to continue to give him the control. 💙

✝️ yes!

After someone hurts you, go pray through your house. I know that may sound strange. I know you are still processing and the last thing on your mind is prayer. But stay with me for a second.

Every hard conversation, every offense, every moment that caught you off guard and left you reeling, it doesn’t just affect you. It follows you home. Into the kitchen where you replayed it a hundred times. Into the bedroom where you couldn’t sleep because it was still loud in your head. Into the living room where you sat trying to hold it together in front of the kids while something inside you was still bleeding.
