Today, the Church celebrates the Memorial of Mary, Mother of the Church, observed every Monday after Pentecost.
Mary stood faithfully at the foot of the Cross, sharing in the suffering of Jesus with silent strength and total trust. When Christ entrusted her to the beloved disciple, He also entrusted her to the whole Church. From that moment, Mary became our spiritual Mother, caring for every believer with love and intercession.
As we begin Ordinary Time after Pentecost, Mary teaches us how to remain faithful in every season of life. She does not replace Jesus; she always points us to Him. In our struggles, confusion, weakness, and waiting, she shows us how to trust God’s plan and say yes with a faithful heart.
Mother of the Church, pray for us. Teach us to love Jesus more deeply and help us remain faithful always.
