With all the difficulties and disappointments one has to deal with in these "last" days, the Lord prompted me to revisit this song by Keith Green. I know it is oldy but the message remains fresh. One could say that it is a sermon set to music.
I pray that it blesses and encourages you to seek a closer walk with the Lord.

Just A Quick Thought

I have used this analogy in church settings in the past and never in a devotion. So I thought with all the troubles folks are going through these days I would use it here.
Question ... would you eat a lovely German Chocolate cake? I am sure most would say, "you bet". But what if I asked you to eat the ingredients separately? I am sure all would say, "no way."
It is the same in our lives. Many of the things we go through are very unpleasant, cancer, heart disease, death of a loved one or financial down turns and other things.
Paul writes to us in Romans 2:28
"And we know that ALL things work together for GOOD to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
Notice Paul who suffered much in the service of Jesus Christ said, "all things work together for good..."
So place your trust in Christ Jesus, He will work out whatever you are facing for your good and His glory.

You know when the Word and precepts of God become sweet and embraced, the things of this world will become far less desirable.
In Psalm 119: 103,104 NKJV we read: "How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way (thing)."

JESUS, OUR HIGH PRIEST

Hebrews 7:24-26 & Hebrews 4:14-16

THE CHRISTIAN GOSPEL MESSAGE OF SALVATION IS MANY TIMES LIMITED TO THE INITIAL ACT OF COMMITTING ONESELF TO CHRIST, BUT THE GOSPEL MESSAGE OF JESUS CHRIST

COVERS SO MUCH MORE.

DEFINING TWO WORDS IN OUR CONTEXTUAL STUDY:

UTTERMOST ... COMPLETE

SALVATION... DELIVER OR PRESERVATION; 1 THESS 5:23,24

BECAUSE JESUS IS OUR HIGH PRIEST, WE HAVE NO NEED OF AN

EARTHLY INTERCESSOR.

1 TIM. 2:1-6.

LET US LOOK AT OUR LORD'S HIGH PRIESTLY PRAYER FOR YOU AND ME... JOHN 17:20-24 ONE OF THE BENEFITS OF HAVING JESUS AS OUR HIGH PRIEST IS

PEACE OF MIND... JOHN 14:27

LOOK AT HEBREWS 7:25 AGAIN, FOCUS OF THE LATTER PART.

WE HAVE A HIGH PRIEST WHO CAN EMPATHIZE WITH OUR SITUATION, WHATEVER IT MAY BE.

HEBREWS 4:14-16

AS A CHILD OF GOD THERE IS NOTHING YOU NEED TO DO TO HAVE ACCESS TO THE THRONE OF GOD... SO... HEBREWS 4:16

SO THAT MEANS...

"WHOSOEVER WILL MAY COME" ROMANS 10:13

LET US LOOK ONCE AGAIN AT ... HEBREWS 7:24,25

SO WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR YOU AND ME???

WELL IF WE LIVE ANOTHER 40 YEARS OR MORE.. HE EVER LIVETH!

WHEN TEMPTATIONS INCREASE...

HE EVER LIVETH!

WHEN I AM IN A CRISIS....

WHEN I AM AT DEATH'S DOOR....

A Quick Thought
You know the "older" I get, the more I think about ETERNITY. I understand, truly I do, that "physical death" can come to us at any age. So with that thought in mind I like to share a bit prose from

One short life for waiting for the Master
Eternity to walk with Him in white
One short life to bravely meet disaster
Eternity to reign with Him in glory
One brief life of toils and trials
Eternity of joy and peace
One brief life of patience and self-denial
Eternity of life, where life is best!
Have a Christ filled day
