Greetings Campers & Parents!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter season and a restful Spring Break! I know this year has had challenges we could never have dreamed of...finally, now we’re beginning to see that light at the end of the tunnel creeping closer...and so is summer time!
Last summer, COVID 19 kept us from gathering in person for the best week of our summer...THE BEST music camp ever. While restrictions are now lifting and many of us are joining Teams Phizer, Moderna, or J&J, I have to say that we are in a similar situation this summer. The virus still prevented our North Georgia FUMMWA Chapter from holding its primary fundraiser that supports this camp. So, sadly again, we will not meet for a week of camp.
BUT WAIT!! THERE’S STILL HOPE!! We may not be able to meet for a week...but we can gather for a day and cram as much of camp into that one day as we possibly can!! Here are the basics:
Date: Saturday, June 26, 2021
Time: 10AM - 3PM
Site: Salem Campgrounds, Covington, GA
This event is open to all current campers and alumni campers! Even better - invite your friends to get a taste of camp...and start looking forward to 2022! Parents, you can hang out with us too!
All your favorite counselors are planning to be there. We’ll have all the opportunities for fun and games with friends. We’ll also learn an anthem that we’ll include in our much anticipated return to camp in 2022 - remember Cooper ‘Scooper’ Haywood is our Choral Clinician! We’ll, of course, include our camp anthem too. We’ll worship together to finish our day with a message of encouragement by Anthony and a pick-up praise team featuring EVERYONE! You KNOW you wanna be there!
We’re working out some of the final details. There will be a minimal cost per person that will cover material costs and lunch. Watch for more details on Facebook and on our website: www.thebestmusiccampever.org .
Folks, on behalf of myself and all of the counselors - We love you, we’ve missed you, you’ve been on our hearts and minds ever since we last saw each other in 2019! (!!!!) We hope you will save the date - June 26, 2021 - to gather for a great day of music camp fun!
