In the verse, which group is referred to as "we," and which group is referred to as "they"?
Knowing the difference will help you tremendously in understanding the Bible.

Thank God for the perfect word of God, which can be found today in the King James Bible. Sound doctrine is crucial to growing in Christ and the knowledge of the Lord as we're instructed to do after we receive the free gift of justification. Satan knows how important doctrine and rightly dividing the word of truth is to our growth. Changing just one word can change doctrine and cause inconsistency in the word of God. "Faith of Christ" is one of many examples. If your Bible says "faith IN Christ" in Galatians 2:16, then you're reading from a book that has corrupted the word of God and has caused an inconsistency in sound doctrine for the new creature, the body of Christ. The reason why we're freely justified, sealed, and given the righteousness of Christ Himself today is ultimately because of the faith OF Christ, His performance, not ours. Understanding the differences between Israel and the body of Christ is crucial. Sound doctrine must be consistent in order to understand these things while studying.

If my goal was to corrupt the word of God, I'd be very subtle about it and just change (or remove) a few words here and there just enough to keep people confused on salvation and/or who they are in Christ if they are saved, and Satan is much wiser than anyone of us. Many good-hearted people can be corrupting the word of God and be completely unaware of it. God promised to preserve His words. If there's not a perfect, consistent book out there today, then how are we supposed to grow in Christ as we're instructed to do? And, if all versions are good, then which ones are corrupt?

( Galatians 5:9 KJV A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.)

Find a book that stays true to itself from cover to cover and consistent to doctrine.
Isaiah 34:16 KJV
[16] Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read...

Romans 6:17 KJV
[17] But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Romans 16:17 KJV
[17] Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Ephesians 4:14 KJV
[14] that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

1 Timothy 1:10 KJV
[10] for whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

1 Timothy 4:6 KJV
[6] If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

1 Timothy 4:13 KJV
[13] Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

1 Timothy 4:16 KJV
[16] Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

1 Timothy 5:17 KJV
[17] Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

1 Timothy 6:1 KJV
[1] Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.

1 Timothy 6:3 KJV
[3] If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

2 Timothy 3:10 KJV
[10] But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
2 Timothy 3:16 KJV
[16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Timothy 4:2 KJV
[2] preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2 Timothy 4:3 KJV
[3] For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Titus 1:9 KJV
[9] holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

Titus 2:1 KJV
[1] But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

Titus 2:7 KJV
[7] In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

Titus 2:10 KJV
[10] not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

Although the victory has already been won, one of the greatest objectives of His birth is still in the future:

1 Corinthians 15:24-28 KJV
[24] Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. [25] For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. [26] The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. [27] For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. [28] And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

But another aspect of His victory is being offered right now during this current dispensation of grace. God is offering anyone who chooses to believe the gospel of Christ (with their own free will) complete forgiveness of sins. Christ was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, then shed His incorruptible blood on the cross for our sins. He died for our sins, was buried, but was resurrected on the third day. Anyone who'll trust in that gospel, from the heart, as their only hope for forgiveness of sins will be completely forgiven all trespasses and will be sealed by the Spirit of God until the day of redemption.

Not only that, He is offering the body of Christ opportunity to grow in Him and to allow His life to be lived through us by walking after the Spirit. Not only is He offering us eternal salvation instantly once we trust in the gospel of Christ, but we have opportunity to live a life pleasing to God and a life that will reap an eternal reward at the judgment seat. No other FREE GIFT could ever compare.

Romans 4:23-5:2
[23] Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; [24] But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; [25] Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. [1] Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: [2] By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Romans 5:14-21 KJV
[14] Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. [15] But not as the offence, so also is the FREE GIFT. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the GIFT by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. [16] And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the GIFT: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the FREE GIFT is of many offences unto justification. [17] For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the GIFT of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) [18] Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the FREE GIFT came upon all men unto justification of life. [19] For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. [20] Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: [21] that as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
