Thank God for the perfect word of God, which can be found today in the King James Bible. Sound doctrine is crucial to growing in Christ and the knowledge of the Lord as we're instructed to do after we receive the free gift of justification. Satan knows how important doctrine and rightly dividing the word of truth is to our growth. Changing just one word can change doctrine and cause inconsistency in the word of God. "Faith of Christ" is one of many examples. If your Bible says "faith IN Christ" in Galatians 2:16, then you're reading from a book that has corrupted the word of God and has caused an inconsistency in sound doctrine for the new creature, the body of Christ. The reason why we're freely justified, sealed, and given the righteousness of Christ Himself today is ultimately because of the faith OF Christ, His performance, not ours. Understanding the differences between Israel and the body of Christ is crucial. Sound doctrine must be consistent in order to understand these things while studying.
If my goal was to corrupt the word of God, I'd be very subtle about it and just change (or remove) a few words here and there just enough to keep people confused on salvation and/or who they are in Christ if they are saved, and Satan is much wiser than anyone of us. Many good-hearted people can be corrupting the word of God and be completely unaware of it. God promised to preserve His words. If there's not a perfect, consistent book out there today, then how are we supposed to grow in Christ as we're instructed to do? And, if all versions are good, then which ones are corrupt?
( Galatians 5:9 KJV A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.)
