Nearly one in five people report waking up unable to move, often sensing a dark presence in the room, and many more lie awake with racing thoughts and spiritual guilt. In this Blurry Things message, Pastor Grant Perry asks a question most of us have never thought to ask: what place does sleep have in our life with God? From Psalm 127 and Psalm 4:8 to Psalm 77 and Romans 12:1, Grant shows that sleep is a gift to receive and part of our discipleship, then walks through sleep paralysis and nightmares with both scientific honesty and biblical discernment. He points us to the authority of Jesus' name (1 John 4:4), to the faith of the three Hebrew men who trusted God even if deliverance did not come (Daniel 3:16–18), and to a Savior who doesn't just defeat the monsters but enters the nightmare with us.

God is moving in Ohio! His people are even more encouraged, equipped and confident in hearing His voice. When a beautiful brick “cathedral” near Franklin, Tennessee turned out to belong to Remnant Fellowship, Pastor Grant Perry opened a harder question than most of us want to ask: what actually makes something a cult, and could we be drawn into high-control religion ourselves? Drawing on sociologists like Janja Lalich and Michael Langone, this message defines a cult as a high-control group that erodes the line between the group and the person, claims authority over judgment and personal life, and uses coercion to keep loyalty. Grant walks through three warning signs (leaders who cannot be questioned, relationships made conditional on staying, and the loss of personal boundaries), why belonging and significance make people vulnerable, and how the church can become a place of safety for those healing from spiritual abuse. Scripture points include 1 Thessalonians 5:19–21, Acts 17:11, Matthew 11:2–11, and Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 11:28.
