TOYS FOR TOTS
Help with set up and distribution of toys for Christmas in our area!

Project Details
Operations Santa Nurse is a Toys for Tots Event!
Volunteers are needed to help Set Up the warehouse (12/19) and for Distribution (12/20), which means helping pass out Christmas items to children and families in need. Adults, teens and children with their parents are welcome to volunteer! Family friendly service.
Locations
2545 Bellwood Road, North Chesterfield VA. Families with children are welcome to volunteer.

Warehouse Set Up for the event - putting out the toys onto the tables
Friday (12/19) volunteers needed:
noon to 4 pm

Warehouse and Toy Distribution (helping the public)
Saturday (12/20)
10 am to 12 pm (setting up)
12 pm to 2 pm (greeting / helping give away toys)
2 pm to 4 pm (greeting / helping give away toys)
4 pm to 6 pm (helping pack up / clean up)
10 to 6 pm (all day volunteers are always welcome!)
Lunch provided for volunteers.

I would be so grateful if you would share this information so we can get lots of volunteers to help. We should be serving 150+ families, representing 600+ children. There will be 2000+ toys, 2,000 books, 2000 stocking stuffers, to given out, 400 animals and more given out! Who is Operation Santa Nurse?
Nursing Stem Success, is a local non profit, run by Dr. Nicole Brown. And yes, Santa Nurse is Dr. Brown! Her organization focuses on promoting STEM education and outreach in underserved youth populations in the hope that those served will consider STEM careers, such as nursing, thus helping lift the next generation out of poverty. AWESOME approach! During the Christmas season, Nursing Stem Success hosts a one day distribution of toys, clothing, books, food, turkeys and other items to families in need whose names have been given to her by social services. The toy/food distribution is called Operation Santa Nurse.

Dear Friends,
Last week, a Petersburg business, Old Towne's Alibi partnered with business and community members to fill up multiple trucks and trailers and took the items to NC. Members from the Appomattox Ward, Shawn and Jana Shelton, were two of the thirty volunteers who helped with the drive and drove the items down to NC.
We now have a chance to help our neighbors in Damascus, Virginia!
The trucks, located at Old Towne's Alibi in Petersburg, are being filled on Sunday and Monday. Only donations on the list are being accepted. If you cannot get your items to Petersburg, call Jana Shelton at (804) 704-4994.
