Archbishop Henning shared the following message on Pope Leo XIV releasing his first encyclical, ‘Magnifica humanitas: On Safeguarding the Human Person in the Time of Artificial Intelligence.’

“Dear Brothers and Sisters, I rejoice with the universal Church as we receive this new Encyclical from Pope Leo XIV. His teaching is timely and important for the People of God and for all men and women of good will. I urge you to read Magnifica Humanitas both for its proclamation of human dignity and its timely summons to protect and promote that dignity.”

On Saturday, May 16, the Saint John’s Seminary community rejoices as several of our seminarians prepare to receive the Sacrament of Holy Orders.

We are especially pleased to congratulate Mr. Nicholas Jones as he prepares for Ordination to the Transitional Diaconate for the Diocese of Providence.

We also prayerfully anticipate the Presbyteral Ordination of Rev. Mr. Javier Padilla, Rev. Mr. Diego Alejandro Pena, and Rev. Mr. Johnathan Saniuk, all for the Archdiocese of Boston.

These ordinations are a joyful witness to God’s enduring faithfulness and a powerful reminder of the importance of forming and supporting vocations in the Church today.

Please join us in praying for these men as they prepare to dedicate their lives in service to Christ and His Church.

Ad multos annos!

A Prayer for Ascension Day

Almighty God, whose blessed Son our Savior Jesus Christ ascended far above all heavens that he might fill all things: Mercifully give us faith to perceive that, according to his promise, he abides with his Church on earth, even to the end of the ages; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

Saint Matthias, Apostle, pray for us!

“Massachusetts State Police Trooper Kevin Trainor has gone home to God. The loss of this young man in service to the Commonwealth is enormous for his family, fiancé, fellow troopers, and the entire community. Together we celebrated his life today in prayer at St. James Church commending him to the loving embrace of the Lord.

During this National Police Week, we also keep all police officers and law enforcement personnel in our prayers, asking for God’s protection in their service to others. Through the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel, patron saint of police officers, may God watch over those who serve our communities each day.

St. Michael, pray for us. “
