Yesterday, Emmanuel showed up at Boston Pride with our bishop and sisters and brothers from across the diocese — rainbow flags, big smiles, and the love of Christ on full display. 🏳️‍🌈✝️

As Brett reminded us this week: "You Belong; No Exceptions." Pride Month is both a joyful celebration of God's radical, creative diversity AND a proclamation that in this community, all are loved, all belong, all can flourish.

We march because Jesus said ALL nations. No asterisk. No exceptions.

Welcome to Pride Month, beloved friends. We are so proud of this community. 🙏🏳️‍🌈

A Celebration of the Life of David H. Fieldhouse

We gather this Friday, June 5 at 11:00 AM to give thanks for the life of David, a beloved and longtime member of our Emmanuel family.

All are welcome to attend in person or join us online. Visit https://emmanuelwakefield.org to download the service leaflet and access the YouTube livestream link.

May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

Creator of all that is, Spirit of many names — Bless this Progress Pride flag as it rises over Wakefield, a visible sign that in this town, all belong.

Bless us in our beautiful diversity — gay, le***an, bisexual, transgender, intersex, two-spirit, questioning, and straight and every beloved variation in between — each one made in your image, each one cherished.

Bless those for whom it took courage to come tonight. You are not alone.

Bless those who have fought before us — we remember Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, two transgender women of color who stood on the front lines of the Stonewall Uprising and helped ignite this movement. Their legacy was targeted for erasure, and this community said: No. The flag, once removed, now flies at Stonewall again — because people showed up, and fought back. We will not forget. And we will not stop.

Bless our joy, our pride, our defiant hope in a moment that calls for all three.

Bless our commitment to one another — to protect, to stand with, to show up, dare we say, to love abundantly.

Let this flag be a banner of that commitment, flying over this town as a promise: all are welcome. All are loved. All belong.

May it be so. Amen
