Prairie Faith is a shared ministry of 5 ELCA Lutheran Congregations in North West Kansas. The geographical area included in this Shared Ministry covers three counties. Three congregations are located either near or in WaKeeney in Trego County โ€“ Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Emanuel Lutheran Church, and Zion Lutheran Church. John Lutheran Church is located in Ellis County and Our Redeemer Lutheran is located in Ness County.

This is the night of salvation!

At the Vigil of Easter, we gather around fire, word, water, bread and wine, proclaiming through story and song that ours is a God who continuously brings life out of death.

Today is Good Friday.

With solemn hearts, we remember the suffering and death of Jesus on the cross. "When Jesus had received the wine, he said, 'It is finished!' Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit" (John 19:30).

On Maundy Thursday, we remember Christ's last meal with his disciples, but the central focus is his commandment that we love one another as he loves us.

"The Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, 'This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.'

In the same way he took the cup also, after supper, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me! For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes" (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
