Tonight is our final in-person Dwell in the Word Bible Study at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall.

All are welcome this evening, whether you’ve attended before or this would be your first time. There is no homework or preparation required. Together, we simply gather to prayerfully reflect on a piece of scripture in community with one another as siblings in Christ.

HUNGRY AWESOME ARTS ADVENTURES CAMPERS will be “roaring” their way to St. John’s beginning Monday, June 22nd...can you help with a snack and/or beverage donation?

Our weeklong event will provide daily snacks and beverages for approximately 50 (yes, fifty) people this year! You don’t need to come and serve the snacks, but if you are willing, donations will be accepted from now through June 21st. What to bring? Think about what kids and youth might like to snack on--ready-to-eat treats and beverages (like juice boxes). You can drop off your donations with Karole Badgley, 2026 Awesome Arts Adventures Camp Director, or with Barbara Kwiatek in the Church Office. Thank you for supporting this AWESOME ministry+

Grace Films' HOPE

A couple of years ago, many of us had the privilege of seeing Brian Ide's powerful film A Case for Love, in which Bishop Curry delivered a compelling message about our nation's deep yearning for healing — a healing that can only come through the infusion of the Christ spirit. Moved by that vision, many of us answered Bishop Sam's call to support Brian's follow-up effort: a film shining a light on the urgent need for love, guidance, and support for young people across this nation — young people of every background who have lost their way.

That effort has now become a reality. Grace Films' HOPE is nearly here. The team is in the final stages of editing and putting the finishing touches on their national release strategy. I invite you to take just a few minutes to watch the clip below. I am confident it will stir something in you — and I sincerely hope you will once again stand behind Brian at whatever level you are able, so that this film can reach the young lives that need it most. The truth is simple: the more deeply we understand the challenges facing today's youth, the more present, compassionate, and effective we can be as parents, grandparents, and friends.

National Day of Prayer event canceled in Wake Forest, NC

Dear Friends in Wake Forest,

We regret to inform you that the National Day of Prayer 12 Noon event scheduled for tomorrow has been canceled due to forecasted inclement weather. While we were looking forward to gathering together outdoors, the safety and well-being of everyone involved must come first.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all who worked diligently to prepare for this event, as well as to those who planned to attend. Your willingness to come together in unity and prayer is deeply appreciated.

Although our outdoor gathering has been canceled, the SEBTS breakfast will still take place at the seminary as planned. We warmly invite you to register to attend if you are able.

Even if we cannot meet as originally intended, this day remains an important opportunity to lift up our town and our nation in prayer. Your prayers continue to matter and make a difference.

May God bless your day.
Sincerely,
Rev. Bob Gallagher

Listening Sessions

We invite all members of the parish to take part in upcoming Listening Sessions designed to help us reflect, share, and look ahead together.

These gatherings will provide a space for you to express how you are feeling, to share your hopes for the future of our church, and to listen to one another with openness and care. Your voice is an important part of this process, and your perspective will help shape the path forward for our community.

The sessions will be held on May 5 at 2 PM and May 7 at 6 PM in the Parish Hall. These meetings will be facilitated by Rev. Stephanie. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

In times of transition, honest conversation and faithful listening are essential. We hope you will join us as we seek to discern where God is leading St. John’s next.

Join us on Wednesday, April 15 at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall for Dwell in the Word Bible Study.

Dwell in the Word is a gentle, drop-in Bible study centered on listening deeply to Scripture together. Using a simple, prayerful practice, we hear a passage read slowly, notice the words or phrases that catch our attention, share with one another, and reflect together on what God might be saying to us as a community.

There is no homework, no required book, and no prior Bible knowledge needed—just a willingness to listen. Each week’s study is self-contained and stands on its own, so you’re welcome to come as you are and join whenever you’re able.
