Such an encouragement and blessing as our students at the Hispaniola Institute of Theology show their excitement to learn and grow by starting off the class with their summaries of the week’s reading.

Friends of HIT, it is with heavy hearts that we share that our brother Elmond’s oldest son, Jorvis, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday.

Please pray for Elmond, his wife, and their family as they are deeply grieving. Pray that they will cling to the hope of eternal life that is ours in Christ, and that the Holy Spirit would be their comfort in the coming days.

"He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds."
// Psalm 147:3

Happy Birthday, Bon Fet, y Feliz Cumpleaños to Elmond!

What a gift Elmond’s life is to so many. He has been invaluable to HIT since the beginning, was instrumental in the foundation of many of the Haitian churches in this zone over the past 30 years, and has trained and guided most of the pastors and leaders of those churches. He also is simply a great blessing to all of us who call him friend!

Help us wish Elmond Jean a happy birthday!

Classes are back in session! This weekend HIT offered a 2-day training in evangelism (411) and practice. It was a wonderful weekend of equipping and sharing the gospel in the community. Please pray for fruit in the lives of those who shared and those who heard!

(Shared by Keverly)

It has felt strange to love Haiti and yet live on the other side of the border during these times. It’s hard not to get caught up in reading every last post, trying to keep up from a distance with politics, gang activity, fuel unavailability, closure of hospitals, kidnappings, etc. So much is happening and my heart breaks for Haiti, and for the vulnerable who are most affected. Please, please pray.

But when I look around me here in the DR, I am so proud. I am proud of my team, the teachers in these video clips. I hope that you can see their passion for the gospel and their students. What you can’t see is the sacrifices they have made to do this work. I am so proud of HIT’s students, for showing up on busy weeknights because they want to know God and His Word. They don’t get anything else out of studying with us! I am encouraged by the growth of HIT with the addition of our Spanish Department. Haitians, Dominicans, Haitian Dominicans, and Americans united and growing together.

Take a few minutes to be encouraged with me!
