At Friendship Chapel, we believe fellowship is just as important as worship. That's why we love 5th Sundays and our time at Coffee with Pastor Mike!
Join us for our next 5th Sunday gathering of coffee, conversation, and connection before worship. Because church is more than a service, it's family.

Day 2: You Cannot Escape God’s Presence

Scripture: Jonah 1:3

Jonah attempted to flee from the presence of God. The irony is that the God who called him was already wherever he planned to go.

Many of us believe a change of scenery will solve an internal struggle. We think a new job, a new relationship, or a new environment will heal what is hurting inside. Yet pain has a way of traveling with us.

Running may change your location, but it cannot heal your soul.

The good news is that God’s presence follows us even when we make poor decisions. His grace is greater than our attempts to hide.

Reflective Question:
Have I been looking for external solutions to an internal struggle?

Prayer of the Day:
Father, thank You that I can never outrun Your love. Help me stop searching for escapes and start seeking Your presence. Amen.

Day 1: When the Pressure Gets Heavy

Scripture: Jonah 1:1-3
There are seasons when life feels heavier than we expected. Responsibilities pile up. Expectations increase. The pressure becomes difficult to carry. Jonah's response was not prayer. It was departure. He ran.
Many times we assume people quit because they lack commitment. Often, they quit because they are overwhelmed. Emotional exhaustion can cause us to avoid what God is calling us to face.
Before Jonah ran from Nineveh, he ran from himself.
God invites us to bring our burdens to Him rather than running from them. The answer is not escape. The answer is surrender.

Reflective Question:
What pressure am I carrying that I have been avoiding instead of processing?

Prayer of the Day:
Lord, help me face what I have been running from. Give me the courage to bring my burdens to You and trust You with what feels overwhelming. Amen.

What a powerful Mental Health Awareness Sunday at Friendship Chapel!
Today, through worship, prayer, and the power of God’s Word, chains were broken and lives were changed. We witnessed freedom, healing, and hope in the room.
As a church, we are committed to removing the stigma around mental health. You can love God, have faith, and still need support. You can pray and pursue healing. You can worship and work on your wellness.
Mental health is wealth, and God cares about every part of us: spirit, soul, and body.
The chains are breaking. The healing is happening. The freedom is real.

When facing pressure and enemies, what did Peter and John pray for? Not for their problems to disappear, but for boldness. Instead of asking God to remove you from the fire, pray to be made stronger within it. This is the prayer of spiritual maturity and power.
