Latino Americans make a greater contribution to our nation than most people realize. Although they represent only 19.5% of the U.S. population, they are responsible for 30.6% of the growth of the national GDP since 2019. “A growing GDP benefits all Americans by providing for a higher standard of living, increased opportunities for socio-economic mobility and improved wages and salaries,” says Matthew Fienup, executive director of the Center for Economic Research and Forecasting at Cal Lutheran. “At the same time that the growing U.S. Latino GDP drives growth of the overall U.S. GDP, all Americans will benefit for years to come from Latinos’ hard work, resiliency and optimism.”
Let's work together to ensure our Latin American neighbors are welcome and appreciated for their contribution to our nation.
🌎 This Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate the rich cultural contributions and faithful witness of Hispanic brothers and sisters who serve Christ and advance His kingdom in North Carolina and beyond. Together, we honor their heritage and rejoice in God’s work through His people.
