God blessed us with a beautiful day for baptism at Pokai Bay Beach today in Waianae Hawaii. It was an honor to baptize two followers of Christ today. Water baptism is a beautiful picture of what our Lord has done for us. As we are completely immersed in the water, we symbolize burial with our Lord; we are baptized into His death on the cross and are no longer slaves to self or sin. When we are raised out of the water, we are symbolically resurrected—raised to new life in Christ to be with Him forever, born into the family of our loving God. Water baptism also illustrates the spiritual cleansing we experience when we are saved; just as water cleanses the flesh, so the Holy Spirit cleanses our hearts when we trust Christ. Jesus’ Great Commission: “Make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19). Baptism is a believer’s first act of discipleship, a step of obedience that stands as a witness that we belong to Christ, and also baptism stands as an outward symbol of an inward covenant we’ve made in response to Jesus’ offer of salvation. "Then they that gladly received his word were baptized" (Acts 2:41).

It was wonderful to worship at Waianae Baptist Church this morning. The instrumental and vocal music enriched the service, especially with the Word of Truth Youth Worship Team from Ewa leading us in worship at WBC. Waianae Baptist Church extended the right hand of fellowship to our newest members on Sunday at the conclusion of our worship service. In welcoming new members into our local church, the "right hand of fellowship" (Gal. 2:9) is extended to individuals who have professed faith in Christ, undergone baptism (or will do so shortly), or expressed an interest in church membership. Please join me in welcoming Kris and Johanzen as the newest members of Waianae Baptist Church. I look forward to witnessing the contributions these two young men will make to our ministry at Waianae Baptist Church.
