A dirty mirror cannot be used to clean someone else’s face. In the same way, before we try to correct or change others, God invites us to look honestly at our own hearts.
Healthy Kingdom relationships begin with self-examination, humility, prayer, healing, forgiveness, unity, and love.
When we are offended, we have a choice. We can allow offense to become gossip, gossip to become division, and division to become unforgiveness—or we can bring our hearts before God and allow Him to heal and transform us.
Instead of asking, “Who is right?” Kingdom relationships teach us to ask:“How can this relationship be restored?” “How can we make this right?”
God wants us to become instruments of healing rather than contributors to the hurt. Jesus teaches us that we cannot consistently love difficult people simply by trying harder in our own strength. We need God's goodness to work through us. The goal of Kingdom relationships is not perfection—it is becoming more like Christ in the way we respond to people.
Let God clean the mirror of our hearts, heal our wounds, and teach us to love others with His goodness.
