First Christian Church of Wagoner, Oklahoma

First Christian Church of Wagoner, Oklahoma We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. Blessing, glory, and honor be to God forever. Amen.

As members of the Christian Church, we confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and proclaim him Lord and Savior of the world. In Christ's name and by his grace we accept our mission of witness and service to all people. We rejoice in God, maker of heaven and earth, and in God’s covenant of love which binds us to God and to one another. Through baptism into Christ we enter into

newness of life and are made one with the whole people of God. In the communion of the Holy Spirit we are joined together in discipleship and in obedience to Christ. At the Table of the Lord we celebrate with thanksgiving the saving acts and presence of Christ. Within the universal church we receive the gift of ministry and the light of scripture. In the bonds of Christian faith we yield ourselves to God that we may serve the One whose kingdom has no end. (Preamble to The Design of the Christian Church (DOC))

I spoke of the Samaritan Woman at the Well last Sunday and mentioned that the Samaritans still exist. I ran across this documentary about modern Samaratins and thought I would share about this community with only about 800 members.

The Samaritans are one of the most ancient tribes in the world - they’ve been around for over 3,000 years. But the population is now fragile and the tribe at...

Happy Sunday to everyone! I hope everyone is safe and warm during our winter weather.

Since worship had to be canceled due to weather, I want to share the Psalm for today:

Psalm 27

The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold[a] of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
One thing I asked of the Lord;
this I seek:
to live in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the Lord,
and to inquire in his temple.
For he will hide me in his shelter
in the day of trouble;
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
he will set me high on a rock.
Now my head is lifted up
above my enemies all around me,
and I will offer in his tent
sacrifices with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make melody to the Lord.
Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud;
be gracious to me and answer me!
“Come,” my heart says, “seek his face!”
Your face, Lord, do I seek.
Do not hide your face from me.
Do not turn your servant away in anger,
you who have been my help.
Do not cast me off; do not forsake me,
O God of my salvation!

Blessings! Pastor Timothy

As a church community, we end one year and begin another with this quiet promise:
“The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time on and forevermore.” (Psalm 121:8)

We don’t know what this year will bring, but we trust the One who walks with us into it.
For all who are grieving, hoping, waiting, or wondering — may you know that you are held.
May God’s joy, peace, and renewing presence be with us as we step forward together into all that is ahead.
