A GREAT THANK YOU!
The St. Brigid Parish Picnic Committee would like to extend a very sincere and heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful parishioners and staff that helped to make the 2026 annual picnic a wonderful success.

First, thank you to Fr. Wojciech for being brave enough to follow through with having the Mass outside. It is such a special celebration, and we are so glad at least that part of it was able to be outside at our beautiful grotto area!

Next, thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who helped us in so many ways, setting up outside on Saturday and Sunday, setting up inside on Sunday, running games, serving food, and all the clean-up work at the end of the extraordinarily long day!

Thank you to both the St. Pat’s and the OLH Knights of Columbus for the wonderful job they did setting up tents, grilling, organizing, and many other activities. They are both amazing groups and there is no way we could have the picnic without them.

Finally, we would like to thank all the parishioners who came out even in the harsh weather to participate. Thank you for your patience with the long food lines and the scarcity of seating. We did the best we could, and you were very understanding about the situation.
Hopefully, next year we will have sunshine and blue skies, but if not, we know we can manage it with all of your help! God Bless You All!

"Walking with Moms in Need" is collecting diapers (newborn to adult 2 XL) until August 30. Drop off full or open diaper packages in the Keeping Families Covered Collection box in the Vestibule at OLH or the Narthex at St. Pat’s.

SPRED Ministry NEWS ---- Special Religious Development (SPRED) will be starting up again in September where we welcome children, teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through one-to-one relationships, shared prayer, reflection, and celebration, we discover God's presence in one another and grow together in faith and friendship.

We currently have an opening for an adult (ages 22+) at St Brigid Parish. If you know of any children or adults who would benefit from participating in the SPRED program, or have any questions, please contact Donna Ianson at 847-456-7518.

St. Brigid Religious Education Registration for the 2026-2027 Year is OPEN! Registration is open for students who will be in kindergarten through 8th grade this fall. Sign up today to secure your child’s spot! To access the registration form please visit https://tinyurl.com/SBREreg
Classes run on Sunday mornings at St. Patrick School from 9:15 AM to 10:45 AM. Our first class will be on Sunday, September 13 with a Parent and Student Welcome Day.

The St. Brigid Missionaries visited Piura, Peru the first week of July and were able to build bamboo shelter homes, deliver furniture to them and bless them, visit a seminary, girls orphanage, deliver food packages to St Brigid Sponsored families, herd sheep and goats, build a volleyball court at Father Joe's school, delivery Holy Communion to the sick, teach English to students, give a speech on the 4th of July, provide lunch to the Senior Community at La Legua, serve breakfast at a soup kitchen, deliver construction materials, host our sponsored family and he Santisimo staff for lunch and visit Chiclayo where Pope Leo was Bishop for 9 years.

We attended Mass every day and in many different chapels and locations and participated in a wonderful and moving Healing Mass at Santisimo Sacramento. We also celebrated Joyce Meyer's retirement after 40 years of teaching and school administration with cake and a Mariachi band!

We were able to see the full circle of life - and witness Deacon Bill conduct a funeral for a blessed little girl only 24 days old and spend time with many, many little ones that are growing up full of faith!
We are blessed to be able to serve in Piura, Peru and are enriched in our faith for having done so.
