We live in a world that is broken. Pain and suffering surround us on all sides to remind us of the one certainty in life, death. In the U.S. alone, someone dies every 12 seconds. It’s likely that by the time you’ve finished reading this that 10 people lost their lives. Every person has dealt with the loss of a family member and will inevitably find their own way to the grave. How do we function as a society when uncertainty is so pervasive? How do we find joy when it feels like the world around us or our own world is crumbling?
In this light, it is so beautiful that Jesus Christ is referred to as the “Good news.” He lived a life and delivered a message that was so simple, believe in me and death will not be your end. He spoke of His Kingdom and how those who trust in his sacrifice would never see death, but would have everlasting life with Him.
All hope in this life can be traced back to Him. All joy, peace, comfort and happiness can be linked to the man Jesus who offered his body upon a cross. He is the answer to death, and the salvation available to us all.
