Holy Spirit Episcopal Church - Waco, TX SERVICE TIMES

Sundays
10:30 AM - Family-friendly musical service with Holy Communion

We are called to become and share the good news of Jesus Christ by growing deep (by rooting ourselves in an ancient story), growing up (by learning to thrive in an upside-down world), and growing out (by standing up for justice in our community).

🤍 There is comfort in knowing we do not face difficult moments alone.

In uncertainty and in struggle, God remains near. May that promise bring you peace, strength, and hope this week.

Starting 8/31, Ravi will have a new schedule! Guests can plan to see Ravi on Saturdays, weather permitting.

This schedule change allows our other orangutans more opportunities to spend time on the habitat and enjoy it, while giving each animal time and space based on their individual needs.

As always, animal schedules are subject to change based on weather, animal care, and the choices of the animals themselves. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you on a Saturday visit with Ravi 🦧

Please join us in praying for the people of Nepal following catastrophic flash floods.

On 26 August, collapsing glacial ice and rock near the Nepal-China border unleashed a torrent of water, mud and debris through Himalayan valleys. Communities in the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts are among the worst affected. Hundreds of people have died, many hundreds remain missing and homes, roads, bridges and places of worship have been destroyed or damaged. Rescue work continues amid the risk of further flooding.

The Anglican Church in Nepal has asked for urgent prayer, following reports that pastors and members of local churches are among those who have died or remain missing. Several churches have also been damaged.

Please pray for all those still unaccounted for, those who are grieving and families in urgent need of shelter, food, clean water and medicine. Pray also for pastors and church leaders serving devastated communities, and for all those leading rescue and relief efforts.

God of compassion,
draw near to the people of Nepal.
Comfort those who mourn,
protect those who remain in danger,
strengthen those searching for the missing
and sustain all who are serving their neighbours.
Bring help, healing and hope to every affected community.
Amen.
