Welcome to Father Jeff Logan! He joined us at Christ Church this month as priest-in-charge.
Fr. Jeff hails from the Midwest, and earned his B.A. degree from DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana, in 1978, with a focus on religion and psychology. He served as a lay missionary in Guatemala for two years before attending the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest, Austin to earn his M.Div. Upon priestly ordination, he has served in various parishes and missions in the Diocese of Fort Worth.
He met Anne, a native of Australia, and they married in 1993. Soon thereafter, they moved to Australia for two years, where he served as Assistant Priest, then interim Dean at St. Boniface Cathedral, Bunbury, Australia. They returned from Australia, and he became rector of a parish in Gainesville, Texas.
In 1998, he entered the US Navy as chaplain. For the next 22 years, he served in a wide variety of billets in the Navy and Marine Corps including time in Iraq (OIF), aboard ships, air wings, ground combat units, and submarines. These postings had the family moving around the United States, and overseas in Italy, Japan and Hawaii. During these active duty years, he earned a JPME diploma from the US Naval War College, many personal and campaign awards, and a D.Min. from Fuller Theological Seminary with a focus on the legal status of military chaplains with regard to the two First Amendment religious clauses.
He transitioned out of the Navy in January, 2021, and was sent to St. Luke’s, Mineral Wells. In four years, he revitalized the small mission there before being sent to Christ Church in October, 2025 as priest-in-charge.
Anne and he are blessed to have three adult children, Michael, Gabrielle, and Andrew.
