Dear church,
Take a look at the Scriptures below. It says:
Colossians 2:16-17 (KJV)
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
We've got a problem, and I don't think this post is going to solve it. I just want you to think! You've leaders got special days around the clock and calendar at your ministries. You've got certain protocols, days, times, expectations, quotas, and the like! When your parishioners don't adhere to your man made agendas and dogmas, you get in your feelings and equate their behavior to where they are with God! You say, "If they treat me like this, then they treat God like this because I am their "MAND" of God! However, when God goes to talking about meats, drinks, new moons, holy days, and sabbath days you try to undermine their importance with the scripture I previously provided! In the streets, they call that RUNNING GAME! Because the things of God, even, if they appear to be foolish, are more important than your traditions that make His word impotent and powerless.
Understand this, even, if these things are shadows, isn't very arrogant for you to assume that you know Christ apart from the shadow! In other words, if God gave the shadow, to teach you about the REAL DEAL, then why would you down play the shadow? Paul is not downplaying the shadows, but you do! He respects the shadows. He regards the shadows. He appreciates the shadows. He utilizes the shadows! Why!? They teach him about Christ! They teach us about Christ! Here this! You have the shadow and Christ NOW! Woe unto you because to whom much is given much is required! You shall now be judged on the strength of His body! And for this cause many of you shall become sick, and many of you shall be weak, and many of you shall fall asleep prematurely because you did not discern the BODY by the gifts of the shadows! This is for leaders! Blessings and love!
Respectfully,
