It has been a tough week since my mom, Mary Rarick passed away. The loss of my mom, my friend, prayer partner, confidant, and our church member at Beverly Hills Baptist Church, Waco, Tx (via Zoom). I was blessed to invest two years as my parents’ primary care giver living with them in Wichita Falls while making trips back to Waco where I worked and still had my home set up.
Some of the good that God brought out of the covid pandemonium was the increased use of webinars. During lockdowns, our church began and continued meeting on Zoom, which gave my parents opportunity to join the church and continue to build loving relationships. They loved the personal aspect of zoom meetings and I was blessed to watch my parents and the rest of our church build up, bless, and benefit one another.
My mom was funny…not a clown trying to entertain…but very fun and funny in her personality.
The same for my dad, Walt Rarick, (please be praying for my dad, especially). It was so fun to watch them banter back and forth with each other, family members, friends, healthcare workers, and neighbors. I have enjoyed hearing many comments of how much their exchanges were enjoyed!
Mom’s steadfast faith ministered to me even when I had no understanding of or interest in God. Her faith annoyed me in times of my foolish rebellion and turning from God to false, fleeting (fluid), and futile identities and understandings of God and of myself. I learned from the Bible years ago that feelings are not facts…and facts don’t set you free, but the Truth does. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life…no one comes to God the Father but through Christ. I am so thankful every day for God’ receiving me back when I returned to Him! Hallelujah! He never quit calling me back to Himself…can you hear God calling you to him? No matter what you are involved in, have done, or has been done to you…God loves you and is calling you to Him or to return to Him today!
Though not perfectly, Mom remained faithful to God and dependent on Him for her salvation until her passing. Now, she is with Jesus face to face!
Her many many health trials are over! She is in the perfect peace of God participating in ultimate in-person worship of Almighty God!
I thank my siblings Connie Rarick Brenda Rarick Kimball and Richard Rarick for working together so well during my mom’s last days and during this week of funeral preparations and planning. Also, much appreciation for all the friends and family Sharing pictures for the memorial slideshow.
Also, I thank Minnie Harrimon, Ellen Cannon, Laurie WillandLaurie Hollingsworth, Laura Six Smith and their team at Central Baptist Church in Burkburnett, Texas for providing a meal for our family.
Thank you all for your continued prayers for my dad and our family, and for loving my mom so well!
