Church Under the Bridge Church Under the Bridge began in 1993 in Waco as a Bible study for the poor and marginalized. Everyone is welcome!

Today it is a church of over 200 culturally diverse worshippers still meeting each Sunday morning under the I-35/S.4th St bridge.

⛪️❤️ SUNDAY IS HERE! ❤️⛪️

All week long, we've been sharing highlights from Creative Sunday and what an incredible reminder it has been that worship is so much bigger than we sometimes realize.

We learned about worship through sign language, poetry, the sacraments, guided imagery prayer, Spanish, painting rocks, prison ministry, silence, and even writing and singing a brand-new worship song. 🙌

Different gifts. Different expressions. Different ways of drawing near to God.

But there was one thing at the center of it all:

Jesus. ❤️

And today, we get to come together and worship Him as the Church.

Psalm 95:6 says:

“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.”

So don't just watch the highlights come be part of it! 🙌

🎶❤️ Creative Sunday Spotlight #9: WORSHIP ❤️🎶

We saved this one for last. ❤️

Our Worship group did something truly special during Creative Sunday. They wrote their own worship song and then shared it with the church using nothing but their voices, no instruments, just music that came from their hearts.

And honestly… it was beautiful. 🥹🎶

There is something incredibly powerful about worship when we strip everything else away. No stage. No production. No instruments to hide behind.

Just voices lifted to God.

Psalm 96:1 says,
“Sing to the LORD a new song.”

A new song doesn't have to come from a professional musician or a perfectly written melody. Sometimes it comes from a heart that simply has something it needs to say to God.

Their song was an offering.

Their voices were the instruments.

And their worship was a reminder that God is worthy of our praise simply because He is God. ❤️

Take a moment and listen to what they created. I think you'll understand why we had to save this one for last. 🥹🙌🎶

🤫❤️ Creative Sunday Spotlight #8: Silence ❤️🤫

In a world that is constantly filled with noise, sometimes the most powerful way we can worship is simply to be still.

Our Silence group explored what it means to intentionally quiet the voices, distractions, and busyness around us and create space to simply be with God.

Scripture says:

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

Silence isn't the absence of prayer. Sometimes, silence is prayer.

We don't always have to fill every moment with words. We can sit before God without an agenda, without a list of requests, and without needing to explain ourselves. We can simply rest in the truth that He is God, He is present, and He knows us.

Jesus Himself often withdrew to quiet places to pray. (Luke 5:16)

Maybe worship isn't always about finding the right words to say.

Maybe sometimes worship is trusting God enough to stop talking... and listen. ❤️

🔐❤️ Creative Sunday Spotlight #7: Prison Ministry ❤️🔐

What does it look like to worship God by reaching someone who may feel forgotten?

Our Prison Ministry group explored the power of writing letters to inmates, because a prison cell may hold someone's body, but it doesn't have to imprison their hope.

Jesus said, “I was in prison and you came to visit me.” — Matthew 25:36

We may not always be able to physically walk through the doors of a prison, but we can still reach through those walls with encouragement, prayer, Scripture, and the reminder that someone cares.

The Gospel tells us that no person is beyond the reach of God's grace. Jesus came for the broken, the lost, the hurting, and the forgotten. And sometimes a simple letter can be the tangible reminder someone needs that they have not been forgotten by God. ❤️

A few words written on a piece of paper can carry hope through a locked door.

Because the love of Christ is not confined by walls. ✝️🔐

🪨❤️ Creative Sunday Spotlight #6: The Lord Is My Rock ❤️🪨

Throughout Scripture, rocks and stones are used again and again to remind us of who God is—our foundation, our refuge, our strength, and the One who never moves.

David wrote:

“The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.” — Psalm 18:2

Our The Lord Is My Rock group took something as simple as an ordinary rock and turned it into a reminder of an extraordinary truth: when everything around us feels uncertain, God remains steady.

We may stumble. We may get knocked around by life. We may feel like everything beneath us is shifting, but our foundation doesn't have to shift with it.

Jesus said that the person who hears His words and puts them into practice is “like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” — Matthew 7:24

Sometimes worship is simply creating a physical reminder of a spiritual truth and carrying that reminder with us.

God is our Rock. He is our refuge. He is our foundation. And He is faithful. 🪨✝️❤️

🇪🇸❤️ Creative Sunday Spotlight #5: Spanish Worship ❤️🇪🇸

Worship has no language barrier. God is worthy of praise in every language, from every nation, tribe, and people! 🌎🙌

Our Spanish group stepped outside their comfort zones and learned a worship song in Spanish, reminding us that sometimes experiencing God in a different language can open our hearts and our minds to Him in a whole new way.

The Bible gives us a beautiful picture of a day when people from every nation, tribe, people, and language will worship together before God. (Revelation 7:9)

So this wasn't just about learning a song in another language. It was about celebrating the beautiful diversity of God's people and getting a little glimpse of what heaven will look like. 🌎❤️

¡Alabemos juntos! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! 🙌🎶

🙏✨ Creative Sunday Spotlight #4: Guided Imagery Prayer ✨🙏

What if prayer could be more than simply saying words? What if we slowed down, quieted our minds, and allowed ourselves to be fully present with Jesus?

Our Guided Imagery Prayer group used the words of a prayer Jesus Himself taught us, the Lord’s Prayer, as a starting point for a time of quiet reflection and imagination.

Through guided imagery, they were invited to slow their breathing, settle their hearts, and prayerfully picture themselves meeting with Jesus in a personal and meaningful way. ❤️

There wasn’t one “right” way to experience it. Each person could enter the prayer in their own way, allowing God to meet them where they were.

Sometimes we spend so much time talking to God that we forget to simply be still and make space for His presence.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
