Church Renewal Church Under the Bridge began in 1993 in Waco as a Bible study for the poor and marginalized. Everyone is welcome!

Today it is a church of over 200 culturally diverse worshippers still meeting each Sunday morning under the I-35/S.4th St bridge.

What a wonderful afternoon we had at our Church Under the Bridge Community Service Sunday!

A huge thank you to everyone who stayed after church and gave their time, energy, and hearts to serve our community. Throughout the afternoon, teams spread out across the city to visit nursing home residents, complete projects at the church office, pick up trash in our community, and work in the CUB Community Garden.

It was inspiring to see so many people willing to roll up their sleeves and serve others with joy. Every conversation, every project completed, and every act of kindness made a difference.

To wrap up an incredible day, we gathered at Creekside for a celebration with our volunteers and the residents. We shared a meal, spent time together, laughed, visited, and simply enjoyed being in community with one another. Those moments of fellowship were just as meaningful as the work itself.

Days like this remind us that being the church isn't just something we do on Sunday mornings, it's something we live out together in our community.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special. We are blessed by each one of you! ❤️

⚾ Church Under the Bridge Family Ministry went to the Rangers game today!

Before the game, we stopped for a great meal together at Whataburger, then headed to the ballpark for an afternoon of fun and fellowship.

The Rangers waited until the last minute to win, our hearts survived, and everyone had a great time. 😂

Days like this remind us that some of the best ministry happens while simply spending time together, sharing meals, and making memories.

🌿 MARK YOUR CALENDARS! 🌿

This year we’re doing Community Service Day a little differently at Church Under the Bridge. Instead of canceling church service, we’ll gather together for worship first and then head out into our community to serve together afterward!

After church, teams will be sent out to:
💚 Serve at Creekside Village
🌱 Work in our community garden
🧹 Help with cleanup projects
🏥 Visit nursing homes and hospitals

This is a chance for us to be the hands and feet of Jesus together while loving the people in our community in practical ways.

📅 Sunday, May 31st
⏰ Service at regular time
🙌 Community projects from 1:00–4:00 PM
🎉 Creekside Celebration after!

Last Sunday our College Small Group spent their evening out at Creekside Village, and what a beautiful night it was. ❤️🍕

They threw a pizza party, brought housewarming gift bags, and most importantly spent time with the friends they made through MBK Chapel. What started as simple conversations and shared meals is growing into real friendship, community, and connection.

The college leaders said it best:

“It was truly a magical night of friendship and seeing lives transformed. We are so lucky to get to be in this beautiful community filled with precious lives that God so loves!”

Moments like these remind us that ministry is not just about a Sunday service, it’s about showing up, building relationships, and loving people where they are.

We are so thankful for this college group and the way they continue to serve with open hearts. 💙

We are excited to invite YOU to join us for a fun day together at the Texas Rangers game on May 30th!

This is going to be a great opportunity to spend time together, make memories, laugh, cheer on the Rangers, and enjoy a day of fellowship together as a church family.

🎟 Cost: $25 per person
📝 Sign-ups: See Elaine at church or at the church office
💵 Payment is required at the time you sign up

We will be taking the church van, so transportation to and from the game is provided!

Be sure to check the event flyer for departure and return times.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Church Under the Bridge 💜

Today we celebrate and honor the mothers, grandmothers, foster moms, spiritual moms, adoptive moms, and all the women who have loved, nurtured, sacrificed, encouraged, and shown up for others in countless ways. Your love leaves fingerprints on lives every single day, and we are grateful for you.

But we also know that Mother’s Day can be deeply painful for many.

For some, today carries grief from losing a mother.
For some, it carries the ache of strained relationships, absence, abandonment, or memories that are hard to hold.
Some are grieving children they lost or longing for children they never had.
Some are walking through infertility, heartbreak, addiction in the family, or empty chairs at the table.

So today, we hold space for both joy and sorrow. Celebration and grief. Gratitude and longing.

At Church Under the Bridge, we want you to know this: Whether today feels beautiful, painful, complicated, or all of those at once, you are seen, loved, and not alone.

“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you.”
Isaiah 66:13

Lord,
We thank You for the gift of mothers and for every woman who has carried love, strength, wisdom, and care into the lives of others. Bless them today with encouragement, peace, and the reminder that what they do matters.

And God, we also pray for those who are hurting today. Wrap close around the grieving, the lonely, the disappointed, the exhausted, and the ones carrying silent pain. Bring comfort where there is sorrow, healing where there are wounds, and hope where hearts feel heavy.

Let every person who walks through this day know they are deeply loved by You.

Amen.

What a night! 🎤😂❤️

Our Church Under the Bridge Variety Show was full of laughter, talent, surprises, and a few moments that may or may not have gone exactly according to plan. 😅

Seriously though, every single person who participated did such an amazing job. It takes courage to get up in front of people, and we loved every song, poem, skit, and moment that made this night so special.

Thank you to everyone who came, cheered people on, laughed with us, and made it such a fun night together. We already can’t wait for next year’s show… and trust us, you’re definitely going to want to be there! ❤️

There’s something special about a group of people getting on stage, giving it their all… and hoping someone knows what’s going on 🤣

That’s exactly what the Church Under the Bridge Variety Show is all about. Skits, songs, creative acts, and a few “we meant to do that” moments along the way.

We might not be professionals, but we do know how to have a good time, and somehow, that makes the night even better.

Join us this Sunday at the Jubilee Theater for a night full of laughter, encouragement, and real joy.
