Join us to kick off the “fall” season at Brew Theology for a lively conversation on creation myths - those ancient stories cultures have told to make sense of the world, time, and our place in it. From floods to first humans, these narratives show up in traditions from Sumer to the Bible, the Epic of Gilgamesh to Greek, Hindu, and Aboriginal stories. We’ll explore their shared themes, surprising connections, and the ways they’ve shaped human imagination across millennia. Come grab a pint or two, share your thoughts, and dive deep into the myths that made us.

What’s the problem with the universe - and are we supposed to fix it? From hellfire and karma to disconnection and entropy, spiritual traditions around the world offer wildly different diagnoses - and prescriptions - for what ails us. This Waco Brew Theology gathering, we’ll explore whether spirituality is a divine escape plan, a path of transformation, or just a way to cope with being human. Come ready to wrestle with salvation, suffering, and whether any of it makes us better neighbors.

(No soapboxes. No jerks. Just real talk over good local craft beer & high quality H20.)

Join us for another Waco Brew Theology gathering at Southern Roots where we’ll stir up conversation around Sin & Humanity. From the ancient burden carried by the scapegoat to the debt imagery in Jesus’ parables, we’ll explore how different views of sin shape how we understand ourselves, our society, and each other. What happens when we shift the metaphor—when sin isn’t just a moral failure or financial debt, but a shared weight or fractured connection?

Judaism isn’t just “the Old Testament.” (We shall refrain from using that language out of respect this week). The Hebrew Bible/ Tanakh is a living, breathing tradition that’s shaped empires, survived exiles, sparked revolutions—and yes, brewed some of the boldest theology the world’s ever seen.

Tomorrow - This Thursday - we’re cracking open Judaism 101 at Southern Roots Brewery (7–9:pm), pouring pints and peeling back layers of Torah, Talmud, mysticism, and modern movements. We’re talking midrash, Messiah, and that question everyone asks: “But what do Jews think about Jesus?”

If you’ve ever wondered where Christianity came from, what makes Judaism tick, or why anti-Semitism still haunts the world, this one’s for you.

No lectures. Just pints, questions, stories, and the pondering about sacred texts on tap.
