Our Redeemer Lutheran Church

Our Redeemer Lutheran Church A congregation faithful to the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Book of Concord of 1580. Member of the Wisconsin Ev. Lutheran Synod since our founding in 1939.

We preach the good news of Jesus, adminster his holy sacraments, and share his love with all. We are very concerned for the well-being of our people and our community. Come as you are! Our church is not a museum of saints; it's a hospital for sinners, and Jesus is our Great Physician of body and soul.

CHRIST IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN INDEED!
May you all have a truly blessed celebration of our Savior Jesus' glorious victory over sin, death, and the grave. HAPPY EASTER!

VERSE OF THE DAY: “My flesh will dwell securely because you will not abandon my life to the grave. You will not let your favored one see decay. You have made known to me the path of life, fullness of joy in your presence, pleasures at your right hand forever.” (Psalm 16:9-11, EHV © 2019)

PRAYER FOR EASTER:
Precious Redeemer Jesus, you have gathered us to yourself just as you have always gathered your disciples — through your holy Word and Sacraments. You have washed away our sins, and you feed us with your body and blood to forgive and preserve us in the one true and saving faith. In your mercy, gather people from every nation into your holy Church, that they may be united with us and be counted forever as children of the living God. May your resurrection comfort us with the good news that death is not the end, and that we have eternal life in paradise awaiting us at the throne of our Creator. Amen.

These are weekly Sunday sermons for the entire liturgical year, Series B. They follow the ILCW (Inter-Lutheran Commission on Worship) pericopes with a few changes suggested by Christian Worship: A Lutheran Hymnal (1993).

These sermons may be read for personal meditation or as a commentary on the biblical text. They might also be read to a congregation by a layman leading worship when a qualified pastor is not present to preach a sermon he has written himself. Small study groups or house churches may find them very useful as well. Seminarians and pastors may read these as commentaries on the biblical text and as examples of how to (and how not to!) write a good expository sermon.
